This changed my appredix carry rig

Been carrying my dagger in a skullhead hoslter. Its great, but hurts after a day of sitting. $10 pad on amazon just changed the comfort level significantly. Also pushes it slightly more into my stomach, hiding it a little better.

What about a leg or outside holster?

I dont open carry anything. The only OWB holster i have is for my FN509 which i take when i go hunting.

Looks pretty good! Could you give us the name or link? I’ve never added a “wedge” to any of my holsters, but for $10 bucks and a solid reference from someone I trust on the topic, maybe it’s time I order one and try it out.

Tier 1 Concealed makes some wedges too, actually wedge shaped to intentionally push the grip in more too. Depending on size they go from around 5 to 8 dollars, and they have a sizing pack for 15 in case you need to find what size you need.
Also have a friend that uses a Mastermind Tactics pillow, and really likes it. I couldn’t stand the wedges personally cause they applied too much pressure. May eventually try the pillow out. Also pricier than the amazon one.
Thinking about it, those (Amazon ones) actually look like helmet pads.

Interesting. I’ve never once heard the term “holster comfort pad” until this post. I wouldn’t have had any idea what to look for. Thanks for sharing your experience and the link.

I use leather holsters most often so not sure if this would adhere or not. For $9 bucks it may be worth a try. If it doesn’t work on leather it might just make the Kydex holsters that don’t sit quite right tolerable enough to actually use.

Thank ya very much! I’ve never tried one myself, but for $10 bucks I’m gonna try one out the next time I place an Amazon order/

Looks like a good set up. I’ll have to try it with my Dagger. :sunglasses:

…hiding it a little better.

The gun or your stomach?

'Cause if it’s stomach, I’ll take a dozen!

The gun. Im 5’9" and 175 lbs. I dont have a gut, and sometimes the grip can print. The pad makes the holster almost completely vertical.

Ah, to be only 175 again…

Phlster Holsters makes a wedge kit that lets you really fine-tune the adjustment of how your pistol carries…it’s pricey, but has enough pieces that you can outfit at least two, and perhaps more holsters.

Sticky holster makes a really nice pad like this. It also has the “sticky” backing. It adds some cushion and comfort and the “sticky” fabric helps hold the holster in place at all times including when drawing. They come in a couple of different sizes and you get full coverage all the way up including the part behind the slide.

It comes with Velcro attachment dots and that’s the only change I made. I bought a large square piece of Velcro brand Velcro for full attachment to the back of my holster. I’ll have to post up a picture when I can. Theses also keep the kydex off of your body. Great in hot climates.

Highly recommend the sticky pad (or whatever alternative works for you).
