To PSA: "Why are you neglecting the Compact X slide?"

Nope Glock 19x
It is still the Glock 19, just the X perversion to accept the G17 mags without having the mag sticking out.
The 17 has a longer slide.
I personally don’t care for a 4" barrel at 6’1" I’m not super tall, but I can hide a larger framed weapon and given the choice, I will always go bigger if I can.
The 34 is okay as a OWB weapon, but I like the 17 size as a base for my carry.
I don’t give a rip about printing, people are oblivious and would only notice a weapon if it’s sticking out at them, even then maybe not.

See description, full size grip, compact slide = G19x version

Exactly. Not sure why anyone would argue without looking at the stuff first. That is currently the closest you will get to a G17 from PSA right now, and the bonus is you can make it into a normal G19X if you want by using the normal length slide. I personally like the slide-extending-from-frame look so I’d prefer that over a 17. I carried a 34 AIWB for a while so maybe some bias there. And I’m only 5 foot 7. It’s doable, even before I chopped the grip down to a 19 sized, made me a G1934.

Long slide/short grip is also a bonus because with a normal 19 length grip you can run the 15 rounder, or higher cap mags. With 17 you’re stuck with those or larger. Between all my friends, the G19 mag compatibility helps when we shoot.

Woah easy fella…
Read first
Never did I say the compact dagger.
Lord the internet commandos…

I am right, how do I know? I have all of the above referenced and they are identical.

The G17 is not the same as the full size dagger.

The full size dagger is a clone of the 19x
Read the PSA description, says compact slide full size grip…

I asked if PSA planned on making a G17 clone, which the full size dagger is not.

The guy posted a picture that says Dagger Full Size -SX Pistol.
In the descrip it says long slide. It visibly HAS a long slide sticking past the frame. That grip module ALONE is a G19X/G45 sized, but the complete package which was the point, is G17 sized minus the barely shorter dust cover. Functionally, it is a G17.
The slide is a Compact X, which has compact in it but is longer, named that way to denote compatibility with the compact frames. Much like a G19L barrel/slide is 17 length, but goes on a G19 frame.

You aren’t right here. Your original point was not the grip length for capacity, but the extra barrel length, which IS offered in that model. A 4.5 inch barrel if you check the standalone Compact X slide/barrel pages, which matches with Glock’s G17 page showing a 4.49 inch barrel.

If y’all wanna banter back and forth might I suggest moving to the Clearly off topic
I created it in a manner of sorts to keep a civil discussion going without ending up in a topic getting closed for inordinate back and forth. Disrespectful won’t be tolerated regardless.

Why does the compact slide come in the length of a Glock 17 which is full size. This is so confusing. I wanna slide that fits on my Glock 19 so which dagger slide is that call.?

The compact slide is 19 size.

Welcome to the forum @therren_2000

Dagger FAQ is also searchable at the top :mag:
Hope this will help you out
Or just ask and someone will chime in

Just FYI, the compact X slide is reduced, $249.99.

Could we get some window cut Compact X slides? I don’t care so much about the threaded barrel Compact X, but some aesthetic choices would be welcome.

I want a compact x but i dont want to spend 279 plus taxes and shipping. This is hardly ever on sale like everything else.

They will reduce the price when sales start to slow down. Is supply and demand

Thing is i never really see anyone talk bout having them, its mostly compact etc.

ahhh…

SEARCHING FOR SX Slide with FLOWERS every morning now

-not turning it into a real 17… shame

idk… you can stick a glock 34 gen5 barrel in a dagger with rmr for a racer still easier than a conversion barrel

Just FYI, black DLC, Compact X, RMR footprint at $219.99 + Tax & Shipping.

Wouldn’t the only compatibility issues come from 17 gen 1-4 parts?
If the only worry is that people will be confused, couldn’t that be covered with a detailed product description? I know y’all have a lot on y’all’s plate rn (aka micro dagger) but it would be awesome to see PSA revisit this topic and look into expanding the available options.
