I’m not a fan of the S&W trigger style. Going to drop an Overwatch Precision PolyDat Kit after I run some rounds through stock setup. I like the P80 flat trigger, my P80 build had the old curved one.
This is my G19 clone build. I bought the Dagger lower complete and paired it with a Kineti-tech complete slide. The Dagger trigger must have been 7-8 lbs. I replaced it with A Kineti-Tech trigger (shoe and bar). It is so much better now. Really smooth and breaks at 4 lbs. There is more uptake than I like, but it still very shootable. Now the main reason I posted. Getting the roll pin out of the back strap was really difficult. I didn’t have a roll pin punch only a regular one. I took it to a buddy who is a Glock armorer and he did it for me. I really hammered on it and it and didn’t budge.
Appreciate you taking the time to make this post. Waiting for mine to come in and already trying to decide what trigger I want. Not a huge fan of the hinge trigger
@jmckinney149 Welcome to the forum!!
So your telling gen 3 glock replacement trigger kits WILL work with the dagger? Interesting, i work at zev and was told it wouldn’t work. Gonna be dropping a zev trigger in my dagger now!
Yup. Fits without problem.
Tell your Zev buddies their connector is the best.
Good to know. Will do!
Welcome to the forums @spartan101377 !!!
Thank you my friend!
Hello Nebush, what is the trigger pull weight before / after you installed the P80 trigger kit?
I did not install it. I think you meant for @millerguns3
I’m sorry but I don’t have a trigger scale. Not a huge difference but well worth the $25 and install time.
Thanks for the quick response!
Thank you for the images and information. I will be making changes to my Daggers soon.
I see that PSA is now selling the Dagger OEM with a Zev trigger. That seems like a great value since the trigger cost almost as much as the entire frame.
I think PSA just sold another Dagger!
Does anyone know the specific model of Zev trigger it includes? It would be nice to have a reduced weight spring.
i saw that with the zev, but to me the factory trigger is not bad at all once it works out, dry firing did this for me without issues before i ever had to take it to the range. that said, i know many many folks love their zev stuff and this will only help to sell the daggers like hot cakes.
i definitely agree that the stock trigger is fine, however having trigger options is not a bad idea at all, and soon other frames… you can just build/buy a personally tailored pistol.
edit: really just a trigger button safety i think is what everyone is accustomed to
double edit: but i also think that’s because people are letting the trigger go all the way back to home after each round instead of just to the reset and has nothing to do with the trigger at all…
Last night I finally got around to changing my trigger. I got my tools out and set up the work space on my bench and set up a Sherlock Holmes movie on the lap top and went to work. Yep, took me just slightly more than 15 minutes to swap it out… didn’t even get to finish the movie. The hardest part was getting the holes to align when I put the trigger pin back in but after a couple minutes it all went into place. The roll pins weren’t even a problem and the Cross Armory trigger was a huge improvement. The original trigger had an excessive amount of take up and a mush feel to it, the Cross Armory trigger has a shorter take up and crisp break with a very short reset. Definitely worth the extra cost and effort.
Thanks for this great tutorial. I purchased the proper punches and a small ball pin hammer, thinking the roll pins would be the problem. Following the directions the two roll pins were easy peasy. Now, I’ve tried all the wiggle tricks I’ve been able to find for dagger/glock trigger/slide lock pin removal, but it’s a no go. Are there any other tricks I can try?
I just taped my lightly with a punch and hammer and it slid right out.
Putting it back together was more of a head scratcher. I ended up putting in the trigger assembly and locking block and slid the pin in from the right side but not all the way through, just into the trigger. Then I worked the slide release in until they lined up and the pin popped through.
