IMO-I hope President Biden reaches out to former President Trump and live stream the moment. That would go really far for Americans who aren’t for division and pettiness 
.308 is probably still the norm. An old Army buddy of mine actually retired from NCIS of all things, mentioned that Federal agencies now use a slew of sniper rifles. The M24 (Remington 700) is still very popular, as is several semi autos like the M110 SASS (.308), but all of the rifles are “fine tuned” by armorer. Nothing ‘off the shelf’ not even a 1 MOA makes the cut, the minimum theses days seem to be sub-MOA (he wouldn’t give the actual standard).

If the persons named as the shooter is still alive, then who is the person they shot on the roof top? I was watching news reports and one reporter stated that these kind of individuals usually want to be identified and made known, so they make sure to have an ID on them. Odd thing was that this shooter didn’t have any form of ID on his body.

There are deranged people in every state, every city, every walk of life. I expect the usual blame game to take place. Blame the type of weapon. Call it gun violence, not people violence. No conversation about, or analysis of, what psycho-pharmaceutical drugs the shooter was on, or what mental state he has been in for a good portion of his life. Just the usual stupid people commenting about things they know nothing about.
The rhetoric from the Left since Mr Trump took office on January 20, 2017, until now is, Republicans are dangerous murderous and that all of us are potential terrorist. Everything the Left says and accuses the GOP of is what they do constantly, but it is buried in the Anti-Trump media.
My personal opinion on the last election, the Liberals did not vote for Biden, they voted agents Mr. Trump. A dead cat could have been the Dem nominee.
And will be the case again in November.
The liberal media needs to take responsibility for their words and actions. We all know that this isn’t going to happen. I really hope that this event makes more people come out to vote and to realize just how far left the media has become. Maybe some people will wake up and start to do their own research online for a more non biased news reporting. As long as the media keeps up their one sided new reporting this country will never be able to put down our differences and actually start to have conversations and debates instead of throwing insults and accusations all of the time. Our media is completely complicit in tearing this country in to.
