One of my favorite guns ever.
I hear those helical mags are terrible with reliability. PSA has a drum mag for the AK-V that works well.
The Ruski’s couldn’t make it work right though.
I’ve seen pics with NK running them too. That would be fun to test it out (if I got a free 1000 rnds and a couple helicals for the testing
)
Their 15 rd extension works like a charm.
Yeah but its not compact enough for me. I like small.
Stick is more compact than a drum except in vertical and quicker to load.
3 sticks = 1 drum. ![]()
Huh? AK-V is 50 rounds both drum and extension. Adds less than 3" to the standard mag. I’m not understanding the math. Unless you’re talking loading time, yes you could load 3 sticks to one drum.
I was thinking the drum was 100rds. My bad.
the 60rnd 556 mag stick looks amazing
i just wonder about the actual weight and ergonomics, im very picky and really love the standard 30 more than the 40 so idk
What about just redesigning the magazine? Didn’t Kel-Tec’s Calico work well enough? Bizon is my spirit animal. I’d buy that for a dollar!
Aside from a modern Kel-Tec Calico magazine, a solution could be a P-90 style stacking and feeding system disguised as a traditional Bizon magazine.
I understand my dream of a Bizon is very unlikely to happen but I’d still like to try.
Edit: Or just use a P-90 mag and have a sleeve over it or something to disguise it as a Bizon mag.
The original Calico M-900 helical 50rd magazine worked well, if you read up on how the magazine worked. Mine has been reliable.
Then we need this! I so hope we can get a Bizon someday. It’s so cool and that Calico mag seems perfect then!
Hopefully PSA will also start dimpling their receivers into their trunions and start using swell-neck rivets also. Kalashnikov himself must be rolling over in his grave.
@ReasonArm on reddit apparently is working on a 3d printed bizon mag for the AK-V.
Just checked that out, thanks to you. Looks really cool!
Anyone know when the standard Stizon will be back in stock? The Mlok handguard version is available, but I don’t see how useful that would be, I’d rather get the original version
