I just watched the AKV Stizon(5/9 release) announcement video and was wondering where this Stizon mag came from - are there any additional details about it? I have never seen it before.
Kinda reminds me of a calico mag.

1st, i really kinda like the Stizon AKv. I think i wouldnt mind having one if it had an ALG trigger. That said, the magazine price is INSANE. however, i can see a scenario where i’d be happy with buying only 1 extra mag at that price, to add to the gun if i had one already. I also like the idea that it should still use my AR-V/AK-V standard stick mags, and that since i dont have an AK v that would fill in that hole. It is interesting.. however i’ve never heard of Stuff and things before this.. so i wonder how good the quality is on this mag.
Thought there was a reason Russia went away from it. Reliability issues with the mag.
yeah the whole " The Bizon has been largely replaced by the PP-19-01 Vityaz in Russian service, which was developed directly from the design of the Bizon, due to reliability issues with the helical magazine." kinda makes you wonder.
It is certainly interesting. With the ALG trigger it would be fun mag dumps.

S.T. inC’s Fire Arms Research Technology department (F.A.R.T. Dept.) has had this mag available for several guns including the AK-V since something like last August.

I like it. I believe the price of mags will drop when aftermarket manufacturers start making them.
Heck, that is really no more expensive than a vanilla AK-V. That seems like a steal since it comes with a $300+ conversion kit.
Do you think that helical mag will keep up with that kind of dump?

thats a good question.. especially if you’re thinking about more than 1 time usage. lol.
wonder what type of torture tests theyve done on it. i’d ike to see full auto dumps on the same mags for say 1000 times without error… then id be convinced its a great mag
So, this will fit any variation of the AK-V? Interesting but, I think I’ll wait and let some others get one to T&E and see how it holds up. Kinda pricey.
