What mags do you use in your PSAK?

Never seen an AK that will not feed metal magazine. I sent it back and PSA checked it out and said it was right. Sad day. Every time I carry it to the range I let other shooter there shoot it. They know something wrong with it.

Rifle is only as good as the mags, some mags are just trash, full stop. Beyond that each ak is a bit different anyway. You may need to file some mags

As someone else noted, AC Unity, and commercial Bulgarian mags are a win.

True, I’ve tried several different Metal mags no joy!

PSA gave me some mags. I’ll hang on to it. I ask PSA to hook my up with a good price on an AR -10 but I guess they don’t what to make it right.

So, i bought some Yugo Steel mags and i’m getting constant feeding jams, but my pmags and psa  mags run through fine. For folks that have had to file for cleaner loading is it generally just that fold in toward the bullet end of the mag?

IIRC most have to work on the lug.

i concur, my steel yugo mags don’t feed consistently, really at all…might get 5-10 jams per 30rd clip. Pmags and psa  (cuz that’s hilarious) feed 30 in a row and are rad. i also had to file down the surplus barrel cleaner, AND the male part of the bayonet keeper. Both fit great and almost w/o wiggle now. Hoping i can get advice or visuals on where folks are filing down steel mags so the next time Im at the range it’ll eat

I circled the areas i was going to grind a bit.

The only issues I’ve ran into involved sanding or filing the lugs a little for over-insertion.

Same rufus. I would not grind anything. Take a little off and test.

forgive me… what is the lug? pic help

Your 2nd picture the flattened circle. The under side of that lug and the locking lug on the rear of the mag.

ok, thks

I got a batch of the Croatian magazines. All had very sharp points where the yellow arrows point that caught and scratched the cartridges, keeping them from feeding. I filed down the points and rounded them off. That fixed them.

I’ve only had to file/sand lugs a little.
