Would someone take a pic of the pin/weld area of their Jakl?

Would anyone take a close up pic of the pin/weld area of their Jakl if they have that model? Since they don’t have my needed suppressor mount, and the barrel can’t be put in a lathe, my only other option is to remove the psa installed device and replace. Would greatly appreciate it.

I dont have one, but to remove the pin/weld you will then need to rethread as the pin prevents it from coming unscrewed. I wish PSA would offer the upper without a muzzle device, but less than 16" would fall in NFA rules.

No problems with nfa rules (meaning I hate them but follow them because I have too much to lose not to), happy to form 1 but since barrel can’t be removed for milling my only option is to remove the pin and swap muzzle device. You can, depending on how it’s pinned/welded, grind away the weld and pull the pin out, unscrew old muzzle device, of course replacing it with the appropriate length new muzzle device that you pin and weld as well. Not my first choice but hopefully an option, but depends on psa’s method. Griffin makes a tapermount expressly for this purpose.

If you’re happy to form 1 you could always just go with the shorter 10.5" “pistol” upper with removable muzzle device. Get your stamp and put whatever device you want on it with no pin/weld needed.

Yes, but I want the full length rail and at least a 12.5” barrel. I know my list of requirements are particular, but so easy to get what I want with an AR and as much as I really like the Jakl design, doesn’t seem to be an easy way to get those. Suspect I’ll have to buy one and try the grinder to remove the pin/weld and see if I can replace with a griffin pin/weld without effecting alignment ( my major concern since this will have a suppressor 99% of the time.

Not a Jakl but on a 14.7 FN CHF barrel…maybe this helps?

Thank you sir. That is the conventional method I’m familiar with. Normally just need to grind/mill off the weld to get to the point where you can pull the pin. As long as psa uses this method should be simple enough. I do know some weld the muzzle device directly to the barrel in addition to the pin, which would be a no go for me.

I just wish we could get a proper 16" so we can use whatever muzzle device we want!

Not sure if you still need this - pic from 13.7” 5.56 P&W Jakl.
