What do you all think the chances are that we eventually see the shorter uppers/handguards offered with longer barrel lengths? Im talking about the uppers PSA uses for their 13.7 uppers.
I’m in love with the aesthetic of my partial picatinny 13.7 Jakl upper, but today I’ve basically just been daydreaming over what it would look like with a 14.5 barrel or a 16in barrel in it instead. It’s my favorite look for rifles. I’ve never really liked the way the full length hand guards look on AR style rifles.
Unfortunately, to do something like this myself would be rather costly. It’d require getting a 14.5 upper (plus possibly the cost of a muzzle device and the fee for someone to p&w it to the barrel), since PSA doesn’t offer the barrel assembly separately for the Jakl, and pulling the barrel and trunion out, and either getting a second 13.7 upper and swapping that barrel/trunion with the 14.5 or pulling the 13.7 barrel in my current one. Or something like that.
I know that PSA said that barrel swapabilty would be a key feature of the Jakl 2.0, but waiting until those finally hit the market would require getting a whole rifle.
Just kind of thinking out loud here. I’d love to have the option to customize/personalize a bit more than what we currently have.
