Your 1911 choice and why?

Steve I’m glad you grabbed one.

I don’t know how they make and sell them for 300 but I’m glad they do. I’m sure I’ll buy a couple of more A1 models.
It really is a good shooter though sights suck

I think the Raider was 629 and had a couple of minute cosmetic issues, for me anyway.

Just received the Match recently and it’s going back on a RMA due to a couple of ill fitting parts. Cost around 640

I have my eyes on the Carry model next.
@GamecockOperator

@Jammo yeah i m glad i grabbed one too now! I’m used to the GI sights as its all i shot for the longest time when i first got into guns. i’ve found a glow in the dark paint pen helps with the sights to make it a bit easier to line them up, and it helps at night too :slight_smile:
I think i wanna get the one that looks like the colt desert warrior style next, but there are a few that ive seen that have my attention that i’d not mind picking up that i saw at my local shop.

the one i ordered from psa was supposed to be the black one, however when i received the gun, it was the parkerized one, which to me is not that big of a deal, either way, but maybe next time if i want another GI i’ll buy the Black one again and definately send it back if i dont get that one the next time just for varietys sake.

I am impressed with their fit and finish, and the quality of the case that it came in.

Yeah the one you want is the Raider model.
The one in the middle here.

yes that is the one… the raider… i love the way it looks.

I somehow ended up with five of these…
The RIA rock standard is best IMO in 9mm flavor. I have 2 of those and a tac ultra DS also but the rock standard is a tank, fit and finish is great. Eats anything and more accurate than I am. It can punch out the “x” at 10 yds
I bought both the Ruger SR1911 and Tisas GI both in 45 auto. The tisas is by far fitted better, very tight very clean. The Ruger is good but not as tight. Both fire AAC rounds no probs, both are accurate as the 9mm. I have fired the SA emmisarry and the kimber LW, it was comparable enough that to me personally it didn’t justify the price difference.

So the Raider, i looked at PSA its out of stock, and i looked at Shooters choice and it again is out of stock… so i made the mistake of looking on Buds… Buds not only had it, but alos have it in 9mm as well as .45acp. I wanted the .45 of course… so lets just say Lay A Way has another object that i’m now paying for. lol. Yeah i coulda bought it outright, or put it on a card, but something about me doing layaway makes it feel more honest to me that i’m saving money up and paying for it that way so that the wife wont get mad or whatever other reason makes sense in my head at the time… so as of today, I have one on lay a way. When i get this one in, will decide how and if i decide to buy any more Tisas… as yes, there is one more that i have my eye on that they produce., and its not another raider either… so time will tell.
I do so love the way the raider looks. i dont think i’ll be disappointed.

I’m really interested in the Tisas Stingray B9BA. I’ve always liked the Ed Rollins cut on 1911s when I used to carry them CCW a lifetime ago.

Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with this model?

I’d probably get the Springfield Armory 1911 Emissary! But I’d still prefer my Staccato P and Springfield Prodigy 4.25. Just saying…

I would luv to have the funds for a Staccato - but, I is a poorz and since I’m an American the DNC isn’t handing out checks to me at the border. :frowning:

Tisas 1911 A1 Regulator 9mm/38 super

Any of you Tisas guys have experience with this one or even know where to find it? This is pretty much exactly what I want, a 9mm 1911 at a reasonable price with a high polish finish.

Edit: Actually, the Commander-sized is probably what I’d opt for, but same point. Still seems like they’re impossible to find.

I saw one listed a couple a couple of months ago somewhere on FB and I recall it being the only one they had.

I’ll keep an eye out for you. I’d recommend that you follow the Tisas and SDS pages on FB.

I would do that, but I’m one of the olds that has rejected all social media. Appreciate keeping an eye out.

Tisas trying to do some really cool things at every day price levels, I can appreciate that.

That’s my favorite design from Tisas, but I’ve never seen one “in the wild” to get a feel for build quality. 1911’s IME are probably the most finicky weapon still being produced in large numbers. Well built ones are fantastic, not so well built ones are just massive headaches.
I appreciate the Ed Brown bobtail cut, not everyone likes it.

I don’t have a Stingray but I do have three others by Tisas and they have great build quality, especially for the cost.

I don’t care for the EB bobtail cut myself :face_with_diagonal_mouth:
@darius51948

FYI**
I’ve also seen lower prices than you posted

I’ve also seen lower prices, but that one was in-stock and had decent photo :slight_smile:

Good to know your experience has been positive.

yeah prices fluctuate, anddependsd where and who is selling what… but i have been very happy with the prices i’ve found so far. .i mean i still cant get over the 299 for the GI version 1911… and 499 for the night stalker was just amazing.

Finally went and picked this one up today after sitting at my FFL over 2 weeks.
Thanks PSA :grin:

Fit and finish is extremely good and they now have a new titanium firing pin.
$350 picked up from my FFL.
Still amazes me as to how they do it.

Look like they’re keeping the quality up?

Yes sir.

I did have a very small complaint on my Raider (cosmetic ) but it was me being overly OCD.

The March Grade needed a tiny touch up on the mag release.

I’ll keep buying these until…
@Rufus

Another Vote for the Tisas!

I am very impressed with these, they easily Rival anything Colt ever put out.
