Features
The Forward Controls Design ABC/R (Augmented Bolt Catch/Release) features an angled, larger top paddle and a lower paddle with an increased surface area. It is purposefully designed for AR15/M16 receivers equipped with ambidextrous magazine releases, addressing the difficulty of accessing the factory bolt catch's lower paddle when using an ambidextrous magazine catch. Often, the ambidextrous mag release's lower paddle is on the same vertical plane as the factory bolt catch's lower paddle, making it challenging to identify by feel, especially when wearing gloves.
The forward-biased paddle is tailored for right-handed users who wrap their left hand around the magazine well and use their left thumb to press the bolt catch's upper paddle.
NOTE:
- ABC/R is designed and made for TDP spec AR15/M16 in 5.56mm. Due to the wide range of tolerances and designs that vary drastically from 5.56mm specs, we do not support ABC/R for use on 9mm PCC. ABC/R was designed for use on 5.56mm AR15/M16.
- ABC/R is machined from a solid piece of 8620, tool marks are sometimes inevitable, they are cosmetics in nature and have no impact on functions.
- ABC/R v3 with forward biased upper paddle may need minor fitting to work with BCM Mk2 upper receivers.
- ABC/R v3 MARS-L is designed for LMT's MARS-L, it will function on a standard, in spec lower receiver as well.
