Every feature serves a purpose—like the reduced-profile surface beneath the bolt catch paddle, carefully designed to prevent interference between the two controls.

To help minimize accidental magazine drops, FCD has shortened the steel mag catch shaft by 0.03"—roughly one full rotation of the button—resulting in a lower profile on the right-hand release. Additionally, the EMR-A includes a 10.9 lb mag release spring, significantly stronger than the standard 8.3 lb MIL-SPEC spring. This added tension helps prevent unintended activations, even during aggressive handling or when slinging your rifle.
