Machined from 4140 steel and coated with black oxide, the OPF-M17, ACRO, RSD is a new addition to our optics platform, forward controls (OPF) series. Consistent with our approach, we have opted for steel over aluminum for this application, as we prefer steel plates to complement steel screws. Although 4140 steel is more expensive and requires longer machining times, we utilize it extensively across our product range. In this context, we prioritize reliability and durability over lightweight properties, which we do not consider particularly beneficial. It is crucial to secure the loaded chamber indicator (LCI) with your finger or a piece of tape when removing the plate from the slide, as the LCI spring is small, fragile and prone to damage. Avoid making this preventable mistake, as we have experienced. While we generally avoid rebranding, we make exceptions for exceptional products that align with our values and those of their manufacturers.
