The OPF-G, RMR (optics platform, Glock, for RMR) serves as a compatible mounting plate for the Trijicon RMR or SRO on Glock MOS adapter set 01 and set 02. It is designed for use with Glock Gen 4 and Gen 5 slides, specifically models G17, G19, G34, G35, G41 (with a width of 25mm/1 inches) and G40, which utilizes Set 02. Unlike Glock's OEM MOS plate, which matches the slide's width, the OPF-G, RMR is intentionally wider to provide full support for the RMR, ensuring compatibility with all MOS-equipped Glock slides. While we appreciate the Glock MOS concept, we acknowledge that the factory MOS adapter plates could benefit from improvements. The standardization, commonality and availability of parts are advantageous. Previously, users had to send their slides for milling to accommodate mini red dot sights or choose third-party optics-ready slides. The process of sending slides for milling, along with the inconsistent quality of milling work and optics-ready slides, presented challenges, particularly regarding sight height standardization. It was rare for two slides milled by different shops to share the same sight height. Although Glock's MOS may not sit as low as some alternatives, we believe its benefits outweigh this, offering uniform sight height, ease of installation and parts commonality and availability. The OPF-G, RMR is a collaborative effort with Tom Shields, a USMC combat veteran and former head coach of the USMC shooting team. Using Glock's MOS adapter plates as a foundation, we designed our version to meet our vision of its potential. The design of the OPF-G, RMR is function-driven, consistent with all our products. We established the following objectives.
- The sight must be securely supported at both the front and rear by recoil lugs or fences, ensuring minimal movement during operation
- Remove the requirement for an extra sealing plate, streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency by integrating sealing functionality directly
- Ensure the sight-to-plate and plate-to-slide screws are of the correct length, the screws should be Torx type for optimal compatibility and performance
- The adapter plate must be precisely machined from steel to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with the intended application
