Add To:

Built on the chassis of the Geissele SSA, the Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E) provides enhanced trigger control and weapon accuracy while maintaining the robustness and reliability of the combat-proven two-stage trigger. The SSA-E’s reduced first and second stage pull weights result in a trigger with a smooth, light first stage take-up and a crisp, candy cane-like second stage break.

It has a simple design similar to the original M16 trigger.  There are no adjustment screws to come loose and all springs are captive, they will not get lost during disassembly.  The entire trigger can be disassembled for cleaning and can be installed without removing the safety.

The SSA-E is ideal for use in precision Squad Designated Marksman type rifles where weapon accuracy and reliability are critical and a non-adjustable drop in trigger is desired.

Would this every work with a 7.62x39 build, planned on a plain jane lower build kit. Already ordered a wolf heavy spring. But would love s touch more refined trigger. Any suggestions?
Nis L on May 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. For this build to work the firing pin needs to be 24 thousandths linger for Russian ammo
The pull weight is not adjustable. At what weight is it set?
ButchN on Apr 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This is clearly stated in the description (right above where it says it’s not adjustable).
Is this trigger the same as a binary trigger ?
John S on May 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, I actually swapped out my binary for this trigger instead. For the money, you get a better and more practical trigger. The binary was fun, but not really useful unless you like mag dumps

Would this work in a large pin colt? Or do they have one that will. Thank you
Bob A on Jul 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No it will not. This is a .154" small pin. You need a .174 large pin. Just Google search geissele large pin trigger. This is a phenomenal trigger by the way.
Will this fit my DD M4A1?
Patrick K on Jul 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You should be fine. Geissele states on their site that their triggers will fit all mil spec lowers. I have eight and have never had an issue. This is my favorite trigger by far.
I am a novice so my question is can I buy this trigger knowing it can fit any AR10 or AR-15 which I have NOT purchased yet - I just know I want to upgrade to the stock trigger that comes standard with the gun - probably a Aero Precision upper and lower?
Daniels on Jul 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Only issue would be colt ar varients
Does anyone have this in a pa10 gen 2?
sean r on Jul 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have a SSA-E trigger in a PA10 gen 2. Works like it should, the same as if it were in a AR 15.
Will this fit in a Aero Precision lower?
MARC M on Dec 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Marc, I have his same trigger in three different manufacturer's lowers (S&W, Ruger, and TCT). All work brilliantly! By the way, this price is unbelievable, I paid the 240 or so. So if the lower is within normal factory specs (the holes for the pins), I see no reason why it would not fit and function.
Carry on smartly, Bruce
With this trigger how many’s shots will fire off of one complete pull?
Jeff M on Dec 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Only one round will fire. It's a two stage meaning there is a short / light Paul of about 2 pounds to take up the slack and then it will stop until you increase the pull of your finger about 1 more pond for a nice clean break. This is one great trigger and worth every penny. It is amazing how much more accurate you are with a good trigger like this
Is this a double tap trigger?
Shane R on Apr 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This is a two-stage trigger as far as I know double tap is a shooting technique not a style of triggerEnter an answer to this question.

Ramiro E on Jul 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have had experience with Anderson lowers but I didn’t use this trigger. But based on experience I see no reason why it wouldn’t work. I have use other Geissele triggers with Anderson lowers with no issue. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with this trigger either.

Can you shoot fast with this trigger?
Keith B on Aug 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It’s not so much speed but accuracy will be assisted greatly.
Once you get used to the trigger no more pulling your shots.
( If you shoot 3 gun AR 15 you will notice it will be faster ).
Would this work in a Scar 17?
Matt F on May 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No. Geissele makes the Super SCAR trigger for the SCAR. I have it and while an improvement, it is not the improvement that the SSA-E is over every factory or MILSPEC AR trigger I've tried.
So... Is this SSA-E 2.76x better than a MBT-2S?
AZHTfreak on May 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I'm not familiar with the MBT-2S trigger but i would highly recommend the SSA-E trigger. Positive resets, smooth action and pulls. I've not had a single problem with the Geissele triggers I have.
What is the difference between this trigger and the SSA ?
Michael H on Nov 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Of these two-stage triggers the largest difference is the break. SSA breaks like a carrot (some give) and SSA-E breaks like an icicle (crisp). I am very satisfied with the break of SSA-E and would highly recommend its use in a precision rifle build.
Will this trigger work in a smith & wesson m&p 10? Thx.
John S on Jul 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If the holes are matched up in same area. They trigger group pins are 5/32. Take a pair of calipers and measure the distance on a standard ar-15 then measure your mp-10

Will this fit in a sig 716 patrol rifle? (AR-10)
T T on Nov 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but I would recommend the SSA trigger instead. The SSA-E is so sensitive that with the recoil of the 716 it will sometimes bump fire.
looking for a trigger assembly for a varmint setup in .224 Valkyrie, curious if this would suffice?
Recondo886 on Aug 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: On an AR, the trigger is EVERYTHING. If all you have ever experienced was a standard mil-spec trigger, boy are you in for a treat. These are worth every penny

Never done a trigger swap myself before but did it with these on two palmetto State armory items and love them. For a novice, took about ten minutes on first one and five for the second.

My favorite ar trigger
I like this trigger so much that I have 3. I have a couple other Geissele triggers in some other rifles but SSA-E is by far my favorite. I do have experience with other ar triggers but in my opinion Geissele is the best.

Geissele SSA-E
Geissele SSA-E. Excellent quality, fit and finish. Straight forward mill-spec type install. I have used SSA’s (4) in the past, and have become somewhat of a trigger snob because of them. Figured the “Enhanced” would be that much better. Because of being used to the SSA and loving them, I figured I would be ready for the lighter/crisper trigger pull on a self defense gun. As many others have stated, it is an excellent trigger, but not for a defense or SHTF type set-up. Unless you REALLY have your sh!t together, it’s just too light for that role. Possibly a DMR, absolutely great in a hunting or precision rifle. Not disappointed in the purchase whatsoever. It will just be going into a longer, scoped AR. PSA was, as usual, quick to ship, and sent prompt notifications. Will continue to purchase from them. And I do recommend the SSA-E. Just know what you’re getting, and what Geissele designed it for.

It’s just OK, definitely not great
I have 3 ARs. #1 is a varmint setup that started life with a rough, gritty mil-spec trigger. I replaced it with a RockRiver NM Varmint and it is fantastic. #2 is a standard m4 carbine with a standard mil-spec but it’s not gritty, just heavy. #3 is a G2 308 that came with a DPMS 2 stage, heavy but very crisp. This is the one I put the SSA-E in. Overall, I am disappointed. It doesn’t live up to the hype. It has a lighter pull, but is definitely not crisp. It has definite creep before let-off and not candy-cane like. Out of the 5 triggers I have had in these 3 ARs, I would rate it 3rd overall with the RRNM-V easily besting it and the DPMS 2-stage barely besting it. The RR was less than $90.
