The P30 boasts ambidextrous controls, including dual slide releases and magazine release levers. Versions equipped with the traditional double action/single action trigger feature a serrated decoking button at the frame's rear. Conversely, models with HK's enhanced double action-only law enforcement modification (LEM) trigger exclude external decoking controls. The HK law enforcement modification (LEM) trigger system cleverly combines the benefits of a cocked striker component for consistent trigger pull and a double action hammer system. This innovative trigger system enhances usability and safety significantly reducing the risk of accidental firing and simplifying the process in case of an ammunition-related failure to fire. P30S models offer ambidextrous safety levers and are available with a conventional double action/single action trigger mode, complete with a serrated decoking button at the frame's rear. The integrated Picatinny rail on the front of the frame allows effortless accessory attachment. The extractor also serves as a loaded chamber indicator, offering a subtle tactile and visual indication of a loaded chamber. The P30 has undergone extensive testing and is already in use by several European police agencies, thanks to its exceptional weight distribution, natural pointability, manageability, and shooting precision. An open notch rear sight with luminous (non-radioactive) contrast points ensures rapid and precise target acquisition, even in low light conditions. In a demanding 2010 endurance trial, a randomly selected P30 test pistol impressively fired over 91000-rounds without significant component failures.
