The LWRCI IC PSD Individual Carbine Personal Security Detail delivers rifle-caliber performance in an ultra-compact platform typically associated with submachine guns. Designed as a maneuverable personal defense weapon, the IC PSD combines compact dimensions and light weight for flexible deployment across multiple roles. Its design traces directly to rifles developed for the U.S. Army Individual Carbine program, emphasizing reliability, durability, and performance in a reduced-size configuration.

Built around the LWRCI Monoforge upper receiver, the IC PSD features a modular 7-inch rail system that allows accessories to be added only where needed, helping minimize overall weight. Slim modular handguards support selective rail placement without excess bulk. The fully ambidextrous lower receiver includes dual controls such as the bolt catch and release, magazine release, and fire control access from either side.

At its core, the IC PSD uses an LWRCI-manufactured 8.5-inch cold hammer forged barrel treated with NiCorr for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. A nickel-boron coated bolt carrier provides excellent wear resistance, corrosion protection, and permanent lubricity. The standard LWRCI enhanced fire control group features X-ray inspected, nickel-boron coated investment cast components for a smooth trigger pull and positive reset.
