Celebrating their 100^th birthday, Mossberg reminisces on their humble beginning in 1919. The founder, Oscar Frederick Mossberg, a Swedish immigrant, knew the difficulty of this task but he was determined to make his dreams come true and 100 years later Mossberg is still manufacturing durable, reliable, and affordable firearms.

The Mossberg 500 Tactical Chainsaw has the durable, reliable Mossberg pump action in a compact configuration. All of the features are the same as the classic Mossberg 500: Dual extractors, positive steel-to-steel lockup, twin action bars, anti-jam elevator ensure smooth operation, and a top mounted safety for ambidextrous operation. However, the 500 Tactical Chainsaw is a compact 6-shot pistol grip tactical shotgun with a “Chainsaw” top handle, synthetic black stock, and blued finish barrel.
