The Original Polish PPS-43C, now comes in a semi-automatic version and chambered in 9mm, brings the iconic history of Soviet-era firearms into modern times. Officially classified as a pistol due to its overall length, the PPS-43C is a re-engineered version of the legendary Pistolet-Pulemet Sudaeva (PPS), a submachine gun that earned its place in history during World War II. Compact and mobile, this firearm was initially designed to meet the demands of Soviet tank crews, paratroopers and recon groups, offering a more agile alternative to the PPSh-41. The PPS-43C evolved from the PPS-42, first produced in 1942 and further refined in 1943 to create the PPS-43. Widely regarded as one of the best SMGs of World War II, the PPS-43 saw extensive use on the Eastern Front and beyond, with nearly two million units produced between 1943 and 1946. It continued to be exported and copied by pro-Soviet regimes for years after the war, cementing its place in firearms history. This semi-automatic version has been thoughtfully redesigned for modern use, featuring a closed-bolt firing mechanism for enhanced safety and reliability. The Pioneer Arms PPS-43C retains the rugged, utilitarian construction of its predecessors with a receiver and barrel shroud made from durable stamped steel. Equipped with an L-shaped flip rear sight for 100 and 200 m and a fixed blade front sight, it maintains the same straightforward functionality that made it a battlefield favorite. The barrel also includes a simple muzzle brake, further enhancing control. Though classified as a pistol, the PPS-43C maintains the aesthetics of its SMG origins, with the stock permanently fixed in the folded position.
