Wouldn't the barrel profile be considered a heavy barrel for this upper? (Maryland compliant question)
Hayden O on Apr 21, 2018
I'm waiting for this to come in. However I'd like to buy a quad rail in stead for the plastic, what drop in quad rail will fit this upper?
Brinks on Apr 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: knights armament and midwest industries both offer drop-in replacements.
Could this upper take a different hand guard?
Chris on Jul 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: While mid-length handguards (8.5") are not as prevalent as carbine length (7") equivalents, there is nothing unusual about this setup that would prevent a drop-in replacement. There are also a few handguards that call for the triangular hand guard retainer - those will not work here.

If you want to free float it, you'll just need proper tools to remove the delta ring, barrel nut and front sight block.
Us this upper compatible with the .223 rounds?
Chris on Jul 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes
Does the barrel profile stay the same diameter throughout, or is it thinner under the handguards ?
Arthur F on Aug 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have several of these. The A2 profile should be the same under the handguard. The government cut is a smaller diameter under the guards. It is also lighter for field carry. Mine are the same .750 under the guard. HBAR is heavier under the guard.
One person said triangle cap, other said round cap for hand guard. Which one does it have ?

Great products! Great AMERICANS!
I am highly pleased and i HIGHLY recommend doing business with PSA. My order was delivered on time and it runs great! So far I've put about 1000 rounds through it NOT ONE ff, fe or ANY issues whatsoever. The fit and finish is EXCELLENT and exactly as advertised. This is my 1st ar 15 im mainly an ak guy but ive been wanting one for awhile, i looked at what PSA had to offer, their prices, barrel material, upper material and everything was up to par. I really appreciate what the GOOD FOLKS at PSA have done, when it comes to offering a product to folks like a me on a tight budget. I purchased a mid length upper with BCG and charging handle for 239 SHIPPED and o e of their classic COMPLETE LOWERS for 129 shipped, so total i paid 370$ minus the transfer fee of 25$!!!!! 370$ for a COMPLETE RIFLE, man you cant beat that with a stick! Would i order from PSA again🤔......HELL YEA ....should YOU order from PSA...man don't even think about JUST.DO.IT. See what i did there😁 Seriously in all candor these are great products that Americans can afford without going broke and still get a QUALITY product that will pass the mustard. You guys take care.

Great upper
All around an excellent purchase. First the good news; functions flawlessly and is accurate enough. My shooting has produced consistently 3 MOA at 100 yards through this barrel shooting 75 grain Hornady Frontier ammo. It runs 55 grain AE well and opens up a little. For the price, that's excellent. 0 malfunctions so far. Consistent, reliable, accurate - that's all you need. Now the downsides (if I can be picky) - the BCG and the gas system. I read and watched reviews about the Freedom upper which indicated it comes with an HP and/or MP tested bolt (although PSA does not advertise this). The bolt that arrived with this upper is not marked either way (yes, I'm sure). I can't hold that against PSA because they didn't advertise a tested BCG, but it is what I expected based on other reviews. The carrier is staked and the finish is Nitride so that's a ++. Regarding the gas system, this is my first mid-length AR which I have read is a "softer" cycling system which also results in less muzzle rise. I can say definitively that the felt recoil on this rifle is much more abrupt and muzzle rise is more pronounced than my carbine length ARs with similar (A2 ish) muzzle devices. I'm guessing that means it might be over gassed? Good news is that will help it run a wide variety of ammo loads. But, we're talking .223/5.56 here so it's totally manageable. All around, I'm very happy with this purchase. Snap it on a lower, add a rear sight, and you are ready to go.

Excellent
This upper is great!! It’s as good as you’ll find anywhere else for a lot more money!! Put a flip up rear sight on it and it groups within three inches at 100 yards. I will be ordering more of them.

Very pleased
Excellent fit, nicely done. First 90 rounds through it and no malfunctions. Shipping was quick, no lag time between ordering and shipping. Mated to a PSA lower which I have not yet reviewed as I am still waiting for the fix that was to be shipped from Customer Service.
