What is difference between a pistol lower & a rifle lower? Can I put a 16" barreled assembly on this lower?
J C on Aug 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Pistol lowers allow you to put a barrel thats shorter than 16 inches on it, making it an AR pistol. You can put any sized barrel on the pistol lower but in my experience, it doesnt make much sense. Hope this helps.

I live in NYS, I am hoping this will ship to my FFL classified as a pistol, multi caliber lower, that I can add an upper after I fix a 10 round magazine to this. Can anyone confirm how this part is documented when coming from Palmetto? Thx
Bud S on Dec 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I did this recently with a different brand lower. Comes transferred as a frame from your FFL and that is what you put on your amendment. Frame and caliber Mutli. That is how it is transferred because that is what it on the lower. Wait til the card comes back then order your upper or if you order your upper dont attach it until the amendment comes back.

Awesome Lower!
Love this pistol, I bought the lower and a 10.5” 5.56 pistol upper to make another AR Pistol. I Love it, right out of the box I shot about 100 rounds through it at 30 yards. The flash can definitely makes a difference on the noise this thing puts out. Since the first day I have put hundreds of rounds through it out to 100 yards, and this thing is accurate!

Great for budget build, first timers, or season vets.
A few things..
It’s stamped. It’s not billet. I think most people know that but if you don’t, now you do. I won’t go into what makes them different but I will say two things; I’m actually building 2 AR15’s at the moment. This one is my test subject to see what kind of AR I can build under $450, I wanted to try out Palmetto since I keep hearing great things and I live a few hours away in Georgia, so I wanted to support local.

My other is a Sharps Bros., Billet lower.

The difference is THAT stripped lower costs $250-$280 + FFL transfer fees unless you go to a shop with it in stock. On the flip side, for a $160 (with this completed lower) you get s fully completed lower. It’s quality made, put together right with no kinked screws or anything like that, and lubed pretty decently. I personally lube like I’m in an adult film, but I’m just overly cautious. This comes packed, ready to go. All you need is an upper, a bolt carrier group(I highly recommend PSA’s in house BCG btw, I’m using it for both this AND my .300 Blackout build) and a charge handle.

Don’t feel like you’re getting sub par just because it’s not billet though. This kit is perfect for anyone from first timers to seasoned vets. No normal person will ever be able to tell the performance difference of billet and stamped. If they say they can, they are either a gunsmith or a liar. This is grade A quality for sure, and I have quite a few various brands, so I can judge it pretty fairly.

Shipping took 2 days total and I ordered on a Sunday.

It is a true KAK Shockwave pistol brace. It does not come with the arm strap.

The sling mount is a basic ambidextrous solid mount. If you want a QD mount, you have to order it. I haven’t looked them up on here but I highly recommend one from Troy Industries. I’m sure PSA makes one, but I haven’t tried it. You can usually pick a quality one up for $19.99 anywhere though, anything cheaper that’s not a sale and I’d be skeptical.

So with my billet lower, the bolt catch pin and the pin the goes behind the stock that stops the buffer tube....ugh! The name eludes me but either way, those are both screw in’s on my billet. These on here are the standard punch pins. If that’s a big deal to you, then so be it. Just know, even though this is already assembled so it won’t ever matter to most.

People ask the question everywhere so I’ll answer it in this review. If you are building a .300 blackout; this is the lower you want. .300 blackout uses ALL 5.56/223 parts EXCEPT barrel. PAY ATTENTION: a .300 blackout will chamber and fire in a 5.56/223 but it will explode because it’s a .30 cal bullet in a .20 cal shell.

Probably stuff I’m missing but anyway, I would buy this again, I will continue purchasing all sorts of parts from PSA, and I highly recommend to anyone. I can attest, it is possible to build an AR pistol for less than $450 because I just did it, from stock to muzzle brake, sights to foregrip. Everything.

This is also a great solution for people who don’t have vices n such aswell, or the not so mechanically inclined.

All smiles here.. PSA you did your thang on this one.
Great pistol lower... I did not order the one with the enhanced trigger group but that's the one I received. Man someone did a great job on this trigger. It has zero creep and a perfect break. (WOW)😁😁😁

Good lower
Overall this is a good lower, trigger is a little gritty, but still shoots great.
