What is the difference between the Freedom Classic Lower, Complete Classic Lower and the Complete Blackhawk Classic Lower?
Joe W on Apr 22, 2018
What Caliber is it?
jordan w on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Depends upon which upper receiver is attached to it, which is your decision. This assembled lower will not, however, function with a round of greater length that the .223Rem or 5.56mmNATO round because of magazine length constraints. You could attach a .300 Blackout upper to it, or even an upper for a wildcat round that is not longer than the standard .223 round.
Will this lower work with any Palmetto State upper in .223 Wylde?
Steven S on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely yes!! :)
So this will use 5.56 or 223?
Joejoe on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The caliber is determined by the chamber of the barrel on the upper receiver group. This is a lower receiver group. You have to add the upper as a separate part.
What is the difference between high deck and low deck ... ar15 lowers?
St C on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is another aspect to this question that becomes a "back in the day" thing. Hope there is enough space in this block. With the initial introduction of the M-16 for the military, the area in the receiver above the selector was milled out to accommodate the auto sear for full auto. Coming forward in time when there was an effort to civilize the M-16 as the AR-15, there was a lot of gun control opposition in that, supposedly, an AR-15 could readily be converted back to full auto M-16 capability. Colt enters the picture. They forged and machined their AR-15 receivers so there was solid aluminum above the selector that was formerly used by the auto sear. So, you probably have surmised by now that a receiver that is milled deep and wide enough for the auto sear is a "low deck" configuration. And, a receiver that is milled in such a way to prevent an auto sear usage, is a "high deck" configuration. There are variations of this used to this day to avoid conflict with Colt, such as, thicker receiver walls in the selector area, leaving some metal above the selector , thereby creating a defacto "mid deck", and some have an additional thin vertical cross wall above the selector. All to prevent the use of an auto sear without serious receiver modification.
what is pictogram?
john b on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I think that means that it does not say the words "safe" and "fire", but instead has pictures indicating whether it is on "safe" or "fire"
Does it work with .22 upper?
Xavier on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, as long as the 22 upper is designed to function with a mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver. PSA 22LR Uppers will 100% function with this.
If I am correct this product has all metal parts. Am I right?
Marcus J on Apr 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You are incorrect. The sliding buttstock and the grip are not metallic. The fire-control parts are metal. The buffer tube and lower receiver itself are metal. The buffer spring and buffer (mostly) are metal. PSA sells good stuff; you do not need to worry about what you buy from PSA being junk.
Is this stock adjustable like the standard 6 position stocks?
James R on May 1, 2018
Will this work with 7.62 x 39 upper?
Buck B on Apr 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This ar-15 lower will work with an ar-15 upper platform
Is this lower compatible with PSA 7" Nitride 5.56 NATO 1/7 Nitride 6" Lightweight M-Lok Slick Side Upper - With BCG & CH?
Martin G on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Short Answer: Yes, but it is not legal right away.

Long Answer: Combining an upper with a barrel length less than 16" on a lower receiver with a stock is considered a Short Barreled Rifle and is regulated by the National Firearms Act (NFA). In order to do this legally, you must fill out a form and pay a $200 tax. The waiting period to get approved for an NFA item is about 8 months, on average. If you like the 7" M-lok upper and don't want to wait 8 months to get out to the range, I would recommend combining it with an AR Pistol Lower. This makes the firearm a handgun, which can have a barrel length less than 16" and not be regulated by the NFA. Link below:
Thomas F on May 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: All military spec AR-15 uppers/lowers follow a standard pattern and are interchangeable.
If I change the stock out can I use this for a pistol build?
dave v on Jun 29, 2018
So this lower dont need nothing else beside the upper?
Peewee on Aug 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You are right; just need a complete upper to slap on it.
Can this work with uppers from other manufacturers?
Gungundin on Jul 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes Sir the Blackhawk Classic lower fits just fine to any Mil Spec Uppers which I had tried to my Ruger 5.56,
to Anderson Upper, ATI Upper, and Germany's HERA irs rail system.. BushMaster., the Blackhawk Classic
fits just like it's home.
I have a complete 556 upper. Do this will work just fine?
ghost on Aug 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will work just fine. I have used my lower with 3 uppers of different calibers. 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, and 7.62x39. All worked just fine.
Does it come with takedown pins?
Blake M on Sep 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, ready for your upper. have three multi cal. one with a 223, 7.62x39, & 300 black out. all function perfectly.
Do I need a FFL to purchase a complete lower receiver?

Will this work with 762.x39 upper?

Will this lower take a shorter than 16in barrel?
abetico on Sep 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Any lower can take short barreled uppers. I have a 10.5 inch .223 upper on it and put a KAK blade on in place of the buttstock.
Will this lower work with my 6.5 grendel upper?
Llewellyn D on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I'm not a gunsmith but I've built a number of AR's including a 6.5 long as your Grendel upper is a mil-spec part, it should fit this lower. Since a Grendel upper is usually intended for long range shooting, the next thing I'd look at is a bit better trigger than the single-stage basic fire control system that comes with this particular lower.
Will this work with the .224 Valykerie upper I bought from you?
Robert D on Jun 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have several of these and they are very well made. You will only need a 224 Valkyrie/6.8 SPC bolt to make the upper work with this lower.
Will this lower work with a complete 300 blackout upper using any brand 300 ammo?
King P on Jul 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If the uppers an AR should work. As for ammo, that is controlled by the upper, all the lower is providing is a means to ignite the primer.
Will this work for a .458 socom..?
Roboink on May 11, 2018
Will this work with the American Tactical .450 Bushmaster Upper 16" Barrel ?
JeffR on Sep 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would assume so if all is milspec.
Being a complete lower, is it classified as a rifle? If so, can an 18 year old buy this?
Dennis V on Aug 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it is not classified as a rifle since it can be converted to a pistol. No only someone 21 years or older can buy this.
What is the trigger like?
Shawn M on Aug 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Typical AR trigger. Not the worse but not the best. Good enough I can deal with it. Seems to get better with use. To help the trigger, using a hammer block, hold forward pressure on the hammer while pulling the trigger. Adding hammer spring pressure forces the sear and trigger to rub hard against each other smoothing the surfaces up. Same as lots of use. Well worth the price of the lower receiver.
If i buy this complete lower and remove the buttstock can i register the lower as a pistol?
Prince on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I think it will depend on your barrel length. I am NOT an expert on this, but as I believe the AR platform is considered a rifle, you may be flirting with ATF trouble due to the NFA rules on having a rifle with a barrel under 16". Tax stamps, background checks, and paperwork. Again, I'm no expert on this!
Why can't you put a 7.62 x 39 upper on it you said it is a multi caliber lower and it depends on the upper you put it . It is an AR 15 lower right ?
wade c on Apr 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: See how confusing the answers are about “it depends on what caliber the barrel is”?!? It depends on what MAGAZINE the lower will accept. If it were a TRUE “Multi-Caliber”, then you could put a 7.62x39 barrel on it. IF the size were stated in the ad in the first place, there would be no questions & no confusion.
Will it work with 762x39 upper ?
Rambo on Aug 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It works but having a hard time feeding think its mostly mag issue

Buy a few!
Another great lower! I did change the trigger to a Fostech, a NiBo BCG, charging handle and grip. I pinned it to an 1:7 Wylde upper I built. Optic is a Atibal 1-8 on a cowitness ad mount. She is sub MOA using 75gr Hornady.

Bad QC on this lower.
Ordered this for the Blackhawk stock with the QD features. Upon arrival, the safely flopped around freely and the stock would not lock into position. Had to call twice to get a replacement stock and safety parts shipped to me. Stock was back ordered. After a week I was asked if I wanted a basic Magpul stock instead. So while all of the other products I have ordered from PSA have been top notch, this lower was way under the bar for QA.

Fun Build
I have read many reveiws from PSA both good, bad, and indifferent. I had to make my own decisions. The lower is quite reliable from the jump. The trigger is very clean when firing. I realize if I did have a problem, PSA is local for me, and they would help me out. Shipping FFL is very fast to the store, but yes they need help on shipping to residents. I can say the quality is worth the wait.
