The Gen2 PA10 receivers are functionally compatible with the Gen1 upper receivers, however we recommend matching Gen2 lowers to Gen2 uppers for best appearance.  There are external cosmetic differences when mixing Gen1 and Gen2 upper and lower receivers that some may not find appealing.  Gen1 lowers will be available in the future for those who want a cosmetic match.

The AR10 platform does not enjoy a common design between manufacturers, like the AR15. As a result, there can and will be subtle differences in the parts kits of various manufacturers. Some parts, like the fire control group, are shared with the AR15 platform to preserve the options for upgrading. For best results, we recommend only using PSA PA10 parts with our uppers and lower receivers. We do not recommend using other manufacturers parts in our products.

Will this fit dpms lower?
Lauren H on May 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You will have to file the lower's buffer tube top and bottom to get it to close. Be mindful of the buffer retaining pin as you will have to carefully lengthen it when you achieve clearance so you can screw in the buffer tube slightly more.
What is the difference between this upper and 516445088?
Chris on May 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Different handguards. This one has the lightweight version, the other does not. You can see the difference in the pictures.
Can I get an adjustable gas block for this barrel from PSA ? It is definantly over gassed.
Chuck on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is not over or under gassed. The problem lies in the hybrid gas tube used. Look into the upper from the bottom of the magwell. If the end of the gastube isn't in the center of the cutout, it needs a true carbine gas tube.
Can a Faxon barrel be used with these uppers?
Tommy on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: From what I've read on forums yes,but you should get a faxon bolt or head space will probably be off. I don't remember the forum but a little bit of searching and you'll see the individuals experience, faxon will not guarantee headspace with any bolt than theirs long story short
What does just the " PSA GEN2 PA10 18" MIDLENGTH .308 WIN upper" weigh? I am counting ounces in an attempt to build a 6lb .308.
Fred on Feb 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have this exact setup so believe me when I say "a lot". It is Stainless (heavier than Carbon steel), it is 18" and has a full barrel profile. It has a steel flash hider not aluminum. 15" of steel handguard (not a full rail top so LW, uh, yeah). The BCG is also larger (thus heavier) than a comparable .223/5.56mm rifle. Even the Charging Handle is slightly larger/longer than a 223/556. BUT... since this has a 'mid-length' gas system, the gas tube is shorter (lighter, haha) than a rifle length gas system!! Personally, "I" do not believe this can be made into a 6 pound unit. Even if using the lightest and most expensive build parts available anywhere. That said, it IS ridiculously accurate. So there you have it a 6 Pound build using this upper... No way!
Has anyone used this upper with a 308 Polymer 80 Lower?
Michael H on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: this will work on a polymer 80%, handles fine
Looking to get into my first AR10 for hunting but wanna keep the weight down if possible. Does anyone have the actual weight info for this complete upper as sold? Thanks, Vin.
Vin M on Jan 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Jon, in his product review dated June 8, 2019, reported 5 pounds, 11 ounces for this. upper. Ha also reported a 10 pound 1 ounce finished (photo included in review) rifle weight including a Primary Arms 1-6X FFP, without magazine.
does this have extended firing pin?
ellis c on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, standard PA10 for 308. Extended firing pins cause unwanted slam fires.
Is this chambered in .308 or in 7.62 x 51?
RickJ on May 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: the listing on PSA website says .308, but I have fired both .308 and 7.62x51.. these two are the exact same size cartridges but .308 is higher pressure than 7.62...but both work fine in this rifle.
What is the meaning of: 'Barrel Finish: Natural' on contraposition of stainless steel?
Reynel F on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: "Natural" indicates that there is no finish or treatment applied on the stainless after it was turned. The barrel finish is just short of what I would call 'brushed', although personally I prefer it.
can you use both 308 and 761 X 51 in this upper?
merle b on May 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: As long as the rifle/upper is chambered in 308 you can shoot both

Hello will this fit dpms style?
Zeus A on Dec 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is dpms style but in general with 308 ARs you should buy the major components from the same manufacturer
Does anyone know if this will fit a aero precision lower?

BEST ANSWER: No
Is the ...(15" Lightweight M-Lok free-float rail) that comes on this... a thin/small diameter handguard?
John J on Feb 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi John,
the hand guard seems a fairly standard diameter to me. It's 2.06 inches from the top to the bottom and 1.68 inches side to side. As you can see in the picture, there is a rib that runs down the top between the 2 picatinny rails that add rigidity but not much weight. The material thickness varies from .12 to .22 inch wall thickness. That's because the inside is round while the outside is an octagon. It has worked well for me with or without a bipod. Finish seems tough so far too.
Have a Rock River 5.56 lower and wonder if this will fit it.?
GBSniper on May 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The product related to your question is a PA10 18 inch. So, the answer is: No, a 308 upper will not fit on a 5.56/223 lower. I bought both PA10, Gen 2 upper and lower from Palmetto. The set fitted well and at 100 yards the grouping is often less than an inch (sub MOA).
What does it weigh?
Fred on Feb 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: i can't give you dry weight but with scope ,full 20 rd mag and bipod 11lb6oz
Is shooting 7.62x51 absolutely a no no? Or more less just frowned upon? I know the difference in them. I just want to get outside opinions.
Michael H on Dec 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use 7.62 NATO in mine, works flawlessly!
will this work with a DPMS lower?
s p on Dec 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't recommend changing brands of uppers and lowers on the AR-10 platform. You can on the AR-15 platform without issue. I am not the expert on this but there are differences in the manufacturing of the brands of AR-10s.
Does this handguard have m-lok on the bottom as well? Would like to put a bi-pod on.
Ryan B on May 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes
Will this fit POF lowers ?
Harrison T on May 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I’m no expert by any means, but I put mine on a 80% lower and I had to remove a little metal from the front of the upper so the magazine would lock in. Just a minimal amount and it has not failed me yet!
When will this SKU be back in stock? Please put it back in stock!
Ryan B on Apr 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Now.
Can I get it in FDE?
Colorinx on Feb 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Not unless you decide to Cerakoat or use some other FDE finish on it.
They say you shouldn't mix uppers and lowers, but does any one know if this will work DPMS 80% lower?
Logan M on Feb 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Others have answered that it will work with DPMS products. It uses a DPMS 'pattern' for milling/machining. "I" see no reason why it would not work with an accurately finished 80% lower from DPMS.
Are these DPMS pattern barrels? There’s a few poor accuracy reviews on these, I’d like to make sure I can swap barrels if it doesn’t shoot.
Andrew T on Feb 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: As far as I know they do. I have a barrel waiting to install as my accuracy left something to be desired. But for the price I felt I was ahead even replacing the barrel.
Will a PSA GEN2 PA10 upper fit on a PSA PX-10 lower? I know aftermarket BCG's and charging handles want on a PSA PX-10 upper.
Dana S on Dec 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No it will not. PA-10 is a "large frame" pattern and the PX-10 is a "small frame" pattern.
What do I need to know before purchasing a Replacement charging handle?
Michael on Dec 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Purchase a DPMS LR-10 compatible CH and it will work.
Will you make a platform chambered in 7.62×51? It's always 308.
Michael H on Dec 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I've been running Winchester 7.62 x 51 in 147gr without issue since purchasing the upper from PSA. I understand the preasure difference between the two rounds but I have not experienced any issues.
Can this item ship to California?
s p on Dec 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: "Happy my Mom's Birthday"... Yes, it will ship but you will definitely have to change the Flash Hider.

New favorite rifle
I Mounted a strike eagle 1-8 on it. It was to bright to boresight. When zeroing, it came in one inch low with consistent POI (.25) at 25 yards from first shot. Shot steel targets out to 300 yards in 15 mph wind. Feed it cheap 140gr Tulo, and 180gr Winchester deer cycled both flawlessly. New favorite rifle.

works ok but needs improvements
Accurate upper but two issues:
charging handle was binding in the upper receiver, so replaced with POF Tomahawk to fix that problem.
over gassed, where the bolt beats on the PSA Gen 2 lower carbine complete lower that was combined with this upper. from looking at the gen 3 PSA was aware of the issue but there are no notes on the upgrades required to a lower to support the over gassed upper - heavier buffer and spring. or replace an adjustable gas block to address the issue

Exceeding expectations
Overall I am very happy with the quality of this rifle , it drives tacs just like the 2000.00 rifles , however / let me say this I did have to put a quality 2 stage trigger in it to get it to shoot the sub .500 in groups ( larue) .

If your not sure about buying this and have been wanting a AR10, let me help you .. buy it you wont be disappointed

Great value and accurate
The upper is very good. It is over gassed as you would expect but adding an adjustable gas block will fix that. There were some imperfections and the hand guard is a bit rough in spots but no large burrs. It matches well with the lower and shoots accurately at 100 yards. It grouped to a little over 1 MOA with factory federal ammo.. I’ll try a series of reloads to see what works best and then stretch out the distance.

The upper would not group better than 5-6 in at 100 yards using a 16X scope and a led sled. Has been returned to PSA, anticipate a 5 star rating when returned.
