Are these high shelf or low shelf?
Pat P on May 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: All palmetto lowers are high shelf. I called and they stated they only produce high shelf lowers.
The way these are marked, can they be used for a pistol build? Tks Ray
Mary H on May 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: ANY lower can be built as a pistol, regardless of engravings. The only thing you cannot do is initially build it as a rifle then later convert it to a pistol. If you build it as a pistol from the get-go, then you will be fine in the eyes of the ATF. And additional, but unnecessary, step you can take for piece of mind is to have PISTOL engraved on the mag well lower.
What’s the difference between low and high shelf?
Daniel K on Jun 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Low shelf has the ability to accept an RDIAS.
What is the significance of a "W" prefix serial number?
Terry D on May 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Only Colt M4 lowers start with the "W" prefix. FN M4s start with a "Y". This lower is clone correct for a Colt 1995-2003 production.
Are fire control markings on both sides of the receiver?
G L on May 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I just received a consecutive numbered pair and both receivers were fully marked on the right and left sides. I have never been able to successfully attach a photo, so you'll have to take me at my word.

Can I use a binary trigger with this lower?
Hagan R on May 24, 2019
RON D on Nov 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I fear selling this man a stripped lower for his safety and those around him.
This super cool, but my question is could this pose a problem with some LEO’s that happened to see these markings? Could it be more trouble to sort out than its worth? The whole, “what are you doing with government property?” And “we’re gonna have to take possession of this until you can prove otherwise...”. I would really like to have one of these but just a thought...
John C. on Sep 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: These are replicas and theres are no restrictions on owning them. Colt makes their military collectors model " Property of US Gov't" marked and plenty of retro builders has marked their receiver this way too. LEO has bigger things to worry about than to question the validity of a marked AR lower. Hope this helps.
Will psa be making lowers marked M16 ?
Allen on Aug 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They are currently working on an M16A2 lower. No word on release date yet.
Will this kill t rex?

So if you put a bump stock on this it will make it semi auto only like in reverse????

How is this lower marked (on the magwell) on the opposite side?
Big daddy on May 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It's blank.
Can I use this lower to build a 7.62 mutant?
Hagan R on May 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you are talking about building an AR that takes AK Mags, then no. If you are talking about an AR that takes AR 7.62X39 mags like C Products or ASC mags, then yes, however this would negate the description of "Mutant" IMHO.
Will this work for 300 aac?
David T on May 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. 5.56 lowers are identical to 300 Blk Out lowers.
I have DDM411 and a lwrc uppers would they have a tight fit on the lower? Don't want it to wiggle like my S&W T model 556
Hector M on May 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: There might be a slight play from the front takedown pin post. Put a rubber o-ring around the front takedown post then put the upper and lower together. You may need to find the correct o-ring size but it will take the play away from the upper and lower.
In the reviews John W noted that it was “obviously not top drawer” what makes a lower “top drawer”?
George B on Sep 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Some of the higher end (ie, top drawer) lowers offer additional features such as integrated trigger guard, threaded bolt catch retaining pin, tensioning screw to remove slop between the upper/lower, flared magwell, etc. All of those features cost extra money via machining time. PSA is the best no frills lower you can buy. Like everything, more money gets you a better product.
Does this also come with the trigger guard or doe that have to be purchased separately?
Right to Live on Sep 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This lower does not come with a trigger guard. You can either find a lower kit that includes one or buy one separately.
Can this be used for a 9mm pistol build?
Robert L on Jun 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: To answer your question yes it can be used to build a 9mm AR pistol with the right conversion kit to do glock or colt pattern mags. For reliability I would buy dedicated lowers made to use for 9mm AR that are available from many vendors including PSA. Save this M4A1 marked lower for a military SOCOM clone build. Hope this helps the decision.
Why "BURST" and not AUTO markings on the M4?
Professor on Apr 3, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Because the M4 being a derivative of the M16 still had the burst trigger packs. It wasn’t until the M4A1 was the full auto mode selected over burst.
I've read where some of the PSA lowers have a tension adjustment screw like that in the Aero lowers. Does this clone lower have one?
Red305 on May 23, 2019
Can I still get this in California?
Michael G on May 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I just ordered a few.
Can you make a M16A4 lower next?
James A on Aug 4, 2019
What color is this? More of the color gray or black? Like to match the upper with it.
Buttermut on May 19, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The description says black hardcoat anodized. I'd assume it's black hardcoat anodized

This is my second marked M4A1 lower I've ordered for a clone build and I couldn't be happier. The first lower was perfect in build quality and finish. The second lower had a few minor barely noticeable milling marks in the pocket of the receiver which does not bother me or affect the function or the lower. The must have switched manufacturers because my first one I ordered last year had a more Milspec finish and was overall perfect, where as the second I recently ordered had a few milling marks, the finish was more of a glossy black and has different rollmarks. Again I'm still very happy with both purchases and I'm sure for $50 you'll be happy too, I'm loving PSA more and more over the other companies

I am happy
Bought this to go with my Remington M4 A1 upper.Even the bump on the mag well lines up with the one on the upper. That's rare these day's.
I have a couple of Aero precision's "Clone" lower's And all tho the Areo's look and feel like a little higher quality the roll mark's on the PSA version are much closer to the real thing.

M4A1 stripped lowers
Very good product. Fit, finish, & function were all I could ask for. Just as good as any of the high dollar brands I have played around with in the past. I'll leave those for the Mall Ninjas and go with PSA in the future!

nothing to complain about, everything fit very tight. made a left handed m4a1 look alike with a few changes. tons of fun to switch into binary mode with the auto marking. definitely recommend this lower

Looks almost perfect expect the blemish.
It looks great! I like the price and it is the perfect fit for my M4 clone build. When I slapped it on my BCM 14.5 SOCOM (I would of bought the CHF 14.5 but they never came back in stock) it has very little rattle. It only three starts because of shipping time. I had to email PSA to have them send it to me. The other reason is there is some sort of blemish in the magazine well, I am not quite sure if it will hinder the performance but I’ll keep you posted.

Go with the MOE furniture.
The receiver took awhile to get to me with a couple dents on the edges of the magwell. Also ordered the m4 upper. The finish doesn't quite match, but hats to tell. The "standard" furniture is commercial grade, not mil-spec. The .02 inch difference in the stock and buffer tube are VERY noticeable.
The edges of the cam hole in the bolt are chipped. Not the finish, the actual metal is chipped.
Tried to contact customer support to no avail.
Compared with experiences with Aero and BCM, you get what you pay for.

Top notch
The PSAM4A1 lower is as nice as either of my Colt M4s at a fraction of the cost.I used a PSA premium upper ( with the FN barrel)and is also as accurate as my colts and any of the other AR’s in my stack. No fancy rails or stocks.....I like to keep things simple. The only real upgrades I did was the nickel boron bcg,Arms 40 L rear sight and a rock river 2 stage trigger. With bulk Fed. Ammo 77 grain boat tails the little carbine was able to keep 40 rounds inside of a palm size group using irons at 150 meters.Great products from PSA.Now if you guys would just get the M1A2 lower .

Very nice lower reciever!
Palmetto lower reciever is very nice looking, and well made..All of my parts fit in it well..Built a whole AR15 from various parts from several assorted dealers..The lower fit very nicely snug to the upper reciever..Never had a better fit..No wobble at all..This is the second lower reciever I have bought from Palmetto, and I really like them both..Fit and finish was great, and rifle actually functioned when complete!..LOL
