Will this work with the PSA gen2 PA10 lower?
Eric M on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: NO - PA-10 is for .308 / 7.62x51 Nato in the AR-10 platform (larger frame). This 7.62x39 upper is for AR-15 sized receiver
Anyone know what the exact diameter of the bore is? .308, .309, .310 for reloading and ammo purchases?
Trygve V on May 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I sent an email to PSA requesting this information and they replied that they "don't have that information available". Not the answer I was looking for but that was their response.
I tried to fit this on a standard PSA AR 15 lower and does not fit properly. Rear take down pin won’t go in,does not line all the way up have to force it down but still won’t go in. Is there a special lower for this upper?
Actionman2929 on Apr 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have this upper paired to a PSA lower and the fit is flawless. Better fit than a Anderson lower. Make sure to push the upper back towards the buffer tube. If it still won't line up and pin you may have an out of spec lower(highly unlikely). Best way to check is try and pin another upper on that lower and see what happens. If it won't pin then the lower is out of spec. Also make sure the BCG is fully engaged with the barrel extension. If another upper fits fine the then upper is slightly out of spec. Just send it back and Palmetto State Armory will take care of you. Trust me.
Is this avail in left hand option?
Steve M on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: As of right now, PSA does not offer any left-handed uppers.
Will this upper fit on an ATI Omni Hybrid 5.56mm?
jimmy t on May 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This upper itself is a standard AR-15 type, only difference is barrel caliber. I have used PSA uppers on the OMNI HYBRID. The new hybrid is a very snug lower, but should work fine.
Will this work on any mil spec lower other than a PSA lower?
Kiely R on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, It will work with any brand standard mil spec lower. I built mine with an Anderson lower and it fit perfectly.

Will this work with a complete DPMS AR15 lower?
Chad M on May 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. You will need 7.62x39 specific magazines. Also there has been some issues with mil surp ammo in these uppers. Hammer not striking hard enough to ignite primers. I have been using new issue, brass case 7.62x39 and mine has been functioning well !

would this work on a smith and wesson lower?
william g on May 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Read the warning on the website regarding industry (non)standardization for the AR-10 platform. Personally, I would NOT go there unless I were able to personally witness a rifle which used the PSA upper with the SW lower, just to be sure.
You can slap (almost) any AR15 upper and lower together. This does NOT apply to the AR10.
Will this work on any mil spec lower other than a PSA lower?
Kiely R on Apr 23, 2018

Wanted something to shoot 7.62x39 ammo, and this unit with 10 round C-products magazines works good for me at a reasonable price.

Makes good holes down range.
Bought it, built it, shot it, decided I don't like 7.62x39 out of an AR platform, and sold it to an ex-Marine buddy of mine who thinks that a 5.56 is a toy.

So everybody is happy!

Least costly way to get into .30cal if you want to use it often.
Wanted to get into .30 Cal, as cheaply as possible, in the same year, and be able to fix any breakages.(good luck finding PSA-AK parts) This was THE Best choice! I got it really hot, and shot to 400+yds out of the box, with a conservative holdover, and no modifications.(range boss was super pissed about me using holdovers) AR STONER mags we're so-so, but I was using 124gr hollow points(mistakenly), and soft points, and fmjs worked fine. I don't fault the mags tho. Do not do the (rumored) front cut on the mags. I am sorry now I did that(still testing theory). MagLula now makes a loader for this rifle! Get one. My Only real question is why they don't use an AR10 barrel extension to not mar up rounds on the way in, but mine feeds fine anyway so far. I am only a bench shooter anyway.
P.S. get the PSA .30 compensator before they sell out forever. It looks/fits Great!-havent had the chance to test mine yet.(I never use inside ranges, as its pointless)
Just trying out the Linb-Saver I had lying around, it's ok, but looks rediculous.

Runs great, but snapped bolt extractor.
The upper was properly assembled, and fully met my expectations. The FSP was properly aligned and the system functioned as expected. Missed 5 stars because the bolt extractor snapped with only 100 rounds through the upper. Maybe not so much a knock on PSA, but this is a common failure with x39 bolts. I will be contacting PSA for a replacement.

Didnt work at all
Wrote to PSA, haven't heard anything back yet after a full day. Will see tomorrow if I get a response. Heard these are great. The BCG did not fit. Had a 20yr cop and Range Master even verify. Will update my review when PSA fixes the issue as I am sure they will. I have purchased many items from them.

Great Quality-Good Price-Can’t go wrong with this upper.
I puchased this upper to build a 7.62x39 iron sighted rifle as I can no longer see AK sights. I mated it to a PSA lower kit and it fit perfectly. It has run 100 percent with 30 rd AR Stoner and 10 and 30 rd C-Products Denense mags. The only down side is the barrel is blued and has no anti corrosion finish in the bore, but that is my lazy side talking. I would most certainly recommend this upper to others.

Good upper
Got this on whim, but glad I did. Paired it up to a PSA lower and took it out a few days after it got in. Have a cheaper low-mag scope on it. The first shot was on paper, if not in the rings. Five shots later, I was busting soda cans at 60 yards every shot with cheap Wolf ammo.

When I got the upper, I got three CPD 10-round mags to go with it. One of these has exhibited issues with feeding the next to last round. The other two do not. I suspect there is a spring or burr issue going on with that one, but that is neither here nor there and I will find the issue soon.

As for the upper, it had exactly one issue and that was on the second shot. The bolt failed to go completely home, but tap of the forward assist fixed that, and it has not happened again. I broke the upper down, cleaned and oiled it before shooting, but I never judge a new gun in the first 150-200 rounds as - like all machines - they need to wear in (break in). Other than that issue, there has been no other problem and I am almost 500 rounds in so far. Mostly steel-cased wolf, but also some brass cased stuff and ammo from at least six makers has been through it.

Money well spent for me.

Cheap Ammo, Good Shooter
I have always fired my M-16 or AR-15's with my nose against the charging handle and eyes right up on the rear sight. Same with AR-10 .308. Not so much with the 7.62x39, it has a tendency to cut my nose a little. Once I figured the feeding issues with the magazines these things shoot awesome. I find with the 10 round magazine it feeds better with rounds tapped forward, the 30 round mags work better with rounds tapped to rear as with AR-15 and AR-10. This rifle shoots any cheap steel cased ammo I've put through it. On lacquered shell casings after about 190 rounds it will stick a shell. I run a quick brush down barrel and keep firing. I'm old and wear glasses, I'm not getting 1 or 2' MOA at 100 yards. I can get 15 of 20 rounds in the 'X' ring on a police silhouette target from the bench at 100. I'm good with that. Target head shots are very consistent as well with this caliber. It's fun, it's cheap, and it;s accurate. I bought 2.
