When San Tan Tactical started designing their PILLAR upper receivers they knew they had to make theirs better and different from everyone else’s. First they started with the material these receivers are made from, because normally billet is thought of as bulky and heavy. Weighting in at 7.02 oz., The PILLAR Lite Upper definitely isn’t heavy! They designed their uppers to be the bare necessities of durability. San Tan Tactical got rid of all the extra billet that makes an upper heavy and reinforced the areas that see the most action.

The lightweight design isn’t the only thing people will notice. The truss pockets are a sure show stopper. Today’s shooters like to run 15” and 16” long rails and grip the rail as far out as possible for more control. STT understands this shooting style and made their truss design similar to that of a bridge. This bridge design evenly distributes stress across the entire platform, instead of putting all of the stress on the material behind the threads. This extra strength not only helps your receiver, but it also helps improve your accuracy.
