Features
The LEAP/13 sets a new benchmark for quick detach red dot sight mounts by offering the lightest, strongest and most compact design available. It is specifically engineered for mounting optics compatible with the Aimpoint CompM4s footprint onto the picatinny top rail of an AR-15. This mount is available in optic heights of 1.57 inches and 1.93 inches.
- The LEAP/13 is meticulously CNC machined from all six sides of a single 7075-T6 aluminum billet, ensuring an optimal strength-to-weight ratio
- A range of quick-detach mounts was evaluated on a digital test stand, which can apply a force of up to 1500 lb
- Utilizing the data, we refined our optic mount design, resulting in the Leap - a quick-detach mount renowned for being the lightest and strongest available
- The innovative clamp design ensures precise functionality and exceptional rigidity, enhancing operational efficiency and stability
- The design includes an oversized hooded through-hole to support the thumbscrew's shank, maximizing its diameter to fit within a picatinny channel
- The clamp is equipped with two precision-ground pins made of hardened steel, which are press-fitted to serve as guiding components
- Throughout its development, the leap mount underwent numerous stress tests prior to the creation of a single prototype
- Utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) maximized performance efficiency by optimizing the use of each gram of material
- The innovative design process has culminated in an exceptionally efficient mount design, optimizing performance and functionality to the highest standard
- Each Leap mount is CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum billet, offering superior mechanical properties compared to 6061-T6, prioritizing strength and durability over cost
- The Leap mount optimizes shooting performance by removing snag hazards and ensuring unobstructed weapon manipulation
- The Leap mount features an industry-leading ClickDrive quick-detach mechanism, offering a symmetrical design that extends less than 7mm from each side of the picatinny rail
- The ClickDrive features a low-profile thumbscrew and a low-friction telescoping clamp, allowing secure attachment to a rail using only hand-applied torque
- The integrated spring-loaded ball detent applies sufficient force against the crown, ensuring it is entirely recoil-proof
- The optics are meticulously assembled at our Easton, PA factory, with all components sourced directly from the original manufacturer
