Sonic Boom Exploding Targets — High‑Output Rifle‑Initiated Reactive Target
Sonic Boom exploding targets use carefully chosen, stable chemicals to produce one of the largest visual and audible detonations available in a consumer reactive target. Supplied as a simple two‑part mixture, the components are easy to measure, mix, and deploy: mix the parts, position the target, and engage with an appropriate rifle round. The formula is non‑hazardous and non‑toxic when used as directed.
These targets are engineered for rifle initiation only and require impact from a center‑fire rifle projectile of at least 40 grains traveling 2200 feet per second or faster to detonate reliably; pistol rounds will not initiate the charge. Full metal jacket projectiles are recommended for consistent initiation and peak effect. When properly detonated the target delivers a dramatic flash and loud report while the stable two‑part chemistry reduces unexpected behavior.
Safety and use: observe strict safety protocols and local laws. Shooters must be positioned no closer than 50 yards from the target, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all manufacturer instructions for mixing, placement, and disposal. Never modify or overcharge targets.
