The pro hunter III SX incorporates Steyrs groundbreaking safe bolt system (SBS), a design advancement that places safety at the forefront. This specific model features a robust green synthetic buttstock adorned with polymer inlays and an aluminum bedding block, ensuring both durability and stability. Its cold hammer-forged barrel is celebrated for its exceptional precision and it boasts Steyrs patented Mannox finish, which provides unmatched resistance to wear and corrosion on-the outer metal components. This specialized finish serves as a protective barrier against the detrimental effects of rain, moisture, sweat and blood. Steyrs SBS system is equipped with a unique 3-position roller tang safety conveniently positioned behind the bolts rear. The SBS bolt includes four forward locking lugs, requiring a 60-degree rotation to unlock the bolt and incorporates multiple gas ports. An exclusive safety bushing enhances protection against unexpected chamber pressure and gas escape. Steyr has rigorously tested this bushing with high-pressure proof rounds up to 120,000 psi, demonstrating the rifles remarkable resilience without sustaining any damage. Adding to its innovative features, this model incorporates a 2-stage magazine release, enabling the safe closure of the bolt without chambering a round when the magazine is at its lowest index, eliminating the need to remove the magazine.
