The Steyr Aug HBAR barrel's enlarged diameter was specifically engineered to facilitate prolonged fully automatic firing while managing heat effectively. Every AUG HBAR barrel is equipped with the iconic vertical recoil reduction muzzle device, an adjustable cant bipod, designed to mitigate aggressive vertical recoil. Just like all AUG barrels in current production, these barrels undergo cold-hammer forging in Steyr, Austria, followed by machining and assembly in the United States.
