Product Details

Features

The U.S. 1816 musket features a barrel crafted from polished steel and secured to the stock using two bands. Its walnut stock is finished with oil and bears the government "J.P." proof mark. Originally manufactured between 1816 and 1844 at Harper's Ferry and Springfield arsenals, this musket draws design inspiration from the renowned 1777 French muskets. Initially produced in large quantities as a flintlock version, it was later converted to percussion for use during the Civil War, highlighting its enduring functionality and historical significance.
