Features
The 1871-72 open top model, although resembling a conversion, marked colt's inaugural foray into manufacturing a revolver explicitly designed to fire a centerfire cartridge. This innovation was achieved by incorporating the loading gate into the frame. Distinct from colt's percussion revolvers, this model was entirely new, initially featuring navy-sized grips and subsequently adopting army-sized grips. The Hickok model represents a contemporary reinterpretation of the timeless open top design distinguished by its snub nose barrel. This variant showcases a case-hardened forged steel frame and a round barrel, complete with a front blade sight. It does not include an ejector rod and its grip parts are finished in blued steel. To ensure comfortable handling, it is furnished with an army-sized walnut grip. Additionally, a rear sight notch is positioned on the rear of the barrel for improved accuracy.
