This modern iteration is purpose-built as a pistol with rifled barrels chambered in .45 Long Colt/.410 (3 inches shells). The Alaskan Howdah is distinguished by its matte chrome finish, tang safety and manual shell extractors. It features a flip-up rear sight paired with a brass bead front sight for precise aiming, while the walnut stock is enhanced with a durable black rubberized coating for improved handling. The action cocks the internal hammers upon opening, with double triggers enabling selective firing (front trigger for the right barrel, rear trigger for the left). For ease of maintenance and transport, the forend piece and barrels disassemble akin to a traditional side-by-side shotgun.
