By integrating directly into the helmet, the CWL forms an effective barrier against harsh weather conditions using microfiber fleece to maintain warmth for the wearer's head. The material's thickness is engineered to cause minimal to no displacement of the helmet pads, thereby preventing improper helmet positioning. This design ensures proper shell coverage of the head, correct alignment of night vision goggles and optimal fitting of communication equipment. Operator comfort is significantly enhanced by providing additional coverage to exposed areas beneath the helmet shell with dual-layer fleece, while the existing pads continue to make contact with the head as usual with the CWL in place.
