The barreled action of the mark V Hunter features threading at 1/2 x 28, making it compatible with suppressors or brakes. A protective layer of Cobalt Cerakote shields the action, safeguarding it against a range of environmental elements. The bolt, distinguished by its deep fluting and removable knob, serves a dual purpose, reducing weight and facilitating efficient dust and debris clearance. It also results in a reduced bearing surface within the action, ensuring smoother functionality. The mark V Hunter offers versatility with a wide range of cartridge options, accommodating both Weatherby magnum chamberings and American classics. Engineered to be one of the world's sturdiest actions, the mark V features a unique multi-lug bolt system inspired by the interrupted thread lockup style. It is available in standard and magnum action sizes, with the standard configuration boasting a six-lug design and the magnum utilizing nine locking lugs. These design choices empower the actions to safely handle the most powerful commercially available cartridges. For added safety, the mark V includes three rings of steel surrounding the base of the cartridge when it's in battery, a fully enclosed bolt shroud, and three gas relief ports in the bolt body designed to vent pressure in the event of ammunition failure.
