Just was wondering if this compensator would work on the Rock Island armory 1911 9mm?

BEST ANSWER: it should with a little fitting, you have to change your guide rod to a 2 piece guide rod or a one piece assy. I believe it specifies that and what types will work
Will it fit and work on my ruger sr1911 9mm commander ?

BEST ANSWER: It fits a full size bushing, with minimal sanding as Wilson plainly states. You do not need a compensator for a compact 9mm.
What kind of fitting do these require? I have a couple Springfields I'd like to put these in.

BEST ANSWER: You may have to sand down the outside diameter of the compensator were it goes into the slide to get it to fit. Mine took minimal sanding to get it to fit nice and snug.
