Features
The Boker Tiger-Damascus is a remarkable addition to our historic pocket knife Series, blending high-quality craftsmanship with an intriguing story from the past. This collector's knife honors the legacy of the legendary Tiger I tank, known as the Panzerkampfwagen VI, which served the Wehrmacht from late 1942. Despite its limited production of only 1,350 units, the Tiger remains one of the most iconic tanks in military history. The story of this specific tank is deeply rooted in battle, as it was part of the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502 and fought near Bauska, Latvia, during the summer of 1944. After colliding with both Soviet tanks and anti-tank guns, the Tiger was eventually destroyed and the wreckage became the source of the materials used to craft this extraordinary knife. The Boker Tiger-Damascus features a unique damascus blade forged from the steel of a Tiger I tank destroyed in battle, specifically one from the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502. Chad Nichols, known for his exceptional work with non-stainless mosaic damascus, has created the blade in the Intrepid pattern, which evokes the powerful image of the Tiger's tracks in the earth. Unlike traditional damascus, the mosaic damascus process combines complex bars of steel into a detailed mosaic design, resulting in a one-of-a-kind blade. The knife itself is as awe-inspiring as its history. The ball-bearing blade opens smoothly with a thumb stud and is securely locked by a steel framelock with a stonewash finish. For added safety, the Hinderer lock-stop protects against lock over-extension. The handle design pays tribute to the tank's powerful lines, while the decorative pivot screw is inspired by the main drive sprocket of the Tiger. The burlap micarta handle scales are ergonomically contoured, with precisely milled grooves that mimic the texture of the Zimmerit coating on German armored vehicles. This piece is not only a tool but a tribute to history, coming with a lanyard hole, a milled clip (tip-up/r) and a steel ball for secure carry. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen, the Boker Tiger-Damascus is delivered with a certificate of authenticity, an individual serial number and a classy suspended display. It is a true collector's item that honors the legacy of the Tiger I, combining history, craftsmanship and innovation in one stunning package.
