For used barrels, utilizing the Fine hone, followed by the Fine, effectively removes rough and tight spots, resulting in a bright finish that is both visible and tangible. It is recommended to run a patch through the barrel before and after honing to observe the remarkable difference. During the honing process, tight spots can be detected, allowing for additional attention until they are smoothed out. For new barrels, the Fine hone alone is sufficient to enhance the factory finish to a stunning, mirror-bright appearance that is sure to satisfy customers. The process is straightforward - secure the hone in a variable-speed electric drill, apply Flex Hone oil to the hone, start the drill and insert the hone into the barrel from the breech end, if possible. As the hone operates, a slurry of abrasive and oil forms, facilitating the cutting action.
