Features
The TRUE hollow-ground bit is engineered to transmit torque evenly and smoothly along the shank. This design not only facilitates efficient power transfer but also ensures complete metal-to-metal contact between the bit tip and the entire screw slot. Consequently, maximum force can be applied, similar to the precision of a finely tapered gun spring. In contrast, so-called hollow-ground screwdrivers with squared-off edges concentrate torque pressure at the square edge of the grind along the tip. As any gunsmith knows, such a flaw can lead to breakage in a spring. Standard, straight-tapered screwdrivers focus all torque pressure on the fine edge of the screw slot. Additionally, due to their tapered design, the laws of physics cause the bit to be forced out of the slot. The bits used in Brownells Magna-Tip screwdrivers are specifically manufactured for heavy industry applications.
- These components are integral to high-speed, production-grade impact drivers, optimized for precision screw setting in large-scale manufacturing environments
- They must be engineered with an optimal blend of hardness and durability to ensure maximum structural integrity and resistance to wear
