Features
Brownells Linotype bullet casting alloy is available in ingots weighing approximately 5 lb each. This alloy is composed of 84% lead, 4% tin and 12% antimony. It is exceptionally hard, making it ideal for high-velocity rifle bullets used in target shooting. However, it is not recommended for silhouette shooting or hunting, as the alloy may shatter upon impact with metal plates or heavy bone. When mixed with pure lead in a 1 - 1 ratio, it produces an alloy similar to Hardball. The Brinell hardness is approximately 22. The alloy is manufactured from virgin metals, not scrap, ensuring a clean composition. It is sold by the ingot, with weights being approximate.
