BSF .223 Wylde 14.5" Barrels are built out of 416R stainless steel and roll-wrapped in a carbon fiber sleeve for enhanced strength and better cooling. The carbon fiber BSF uses is specially designed to move at the same expansion rate as the 416R stainless steel. BSF also drills holes into the carbon fiber allowing air to move around the barrel and vent heat quicker without any delamination issues. Using these methods keeps the rifling straighter the warmer the barrel gets and allows the barrel to maintain stiffness and strength while keeping the barrel extremely lightweight.
