The low-profile E-Max® hearing protection combines great circuitry with a low profile earcup that’s ideal for shotgun shooters and action shooters.  The two microphones in the E-Max® amplify sounds below 85 decibels, which amplifies normal communication, range commands, and environmental sounds.  Above 85 decibels, the microphones shut off for a split second to protect the shooter’s hearing.  Two microphones – one in each cup – give the user true stereo sound and allow the user to identify the directional source of a sound.  Includes an integrated audio input jack allowing music to be played.  Runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included).  23NRR

Great hearing protection
I'm very happy with the Caldwell E-max. I not only use them while shooting, but use them at work also. I'm a carpenter and they are useful on the job. I should have bought more so everyone in our family has their own.

wait until they go on sale again
First I'd like to say that I hesitated to review this since I bought it on a Daily Deal for $15. $15 is about right for these. My star rating is based on the non-sale price. They don't compare at all to the quality of my Howard Leight amplified earmuff. Cons: 1) They have a strong plastic odor about them 2) they are very difficult to fold up for storage. I'm not even sure I can get them to fold up. Pros: 1) They fit folks with big heads without an issue. 2) A decent value @$15 (but not $25)
