- Ecommerce Platform: 1911
- Size: 1/4-60
- Material: Steel
Features
A specialized tap is utilized to cut .255-60 threads in a 1911 frame for repair using oversize bushings. Custom-ground by Challis Grips, this tap reams the hole to the appropriate size before cutting the threads, eliminating the need for pre-drilling. The close-up photograph illustrates the custom reamer grind. To our knowledge, no other oversize bushing tap is ground in this manner; others necessitate pre-drilling to 0.234 inches before tapping the hole.
- Facilitates the cutting of oversized threads in a damaged frame, whether composed of steel or aluminum alloy
- Pre-drilling is unnecessary before initiating the tapping process
