Features

In the midst of the transition from cap and ball firearms to self-contained metallic cartridges, firearm manufacturers and skilled gunsmiths were actively involved in converting existing cap and ball arms into metallic cartridge models, commonly referred to as conversions. However, Remington took a distinct approach by producing their renowned new model Army revolvers as dedicated metallic cartridge firearms. Cimarron has taken the 1858 models and elevated them to cater to the preferences of modern-day shooters. The 1858 new model Army, initially a 0.44 bore handgun, underwent conversion to either 0.46 rimfire or 0.44 rimfire and centerfire metallic cartridges, each priced notably at $9 per unit for civilian trade. Drawing inspiration from an original new model Army within the Cimarron collection, these replicas are now offered in both standard blue and color case hardened finishes. Cimarron provides the 1858 new model Army with a choice of two barrel lengths, 5-1/2 inches or 8 inches octagon barrels and chambering options including 0.45 Colt, 0.44-40 or 0.38 special (specific to the 5-1/2 inches barrel version). Additionally, there is a 7-3/8 inches barreled new model Navy chambered for the 0.38 special cartridge. Both iterations come equipped with ejector rods for enhanced functionality. Cimarrons replica Remington new model Army and Navy faithfully replicate the appearance and handling of the original firearms.
