The CB1078-20 Wad is specifically designed for 7/8 to 1-1/4 oz target and hunting loads and is compatible with most hulls. Wads play a critical role in shotshell reloading by filling extra space in the hull, preventing the shot and powder from shifting during firing. They serve as a barrier between the powder and shot, ensuring proper powder ignition, protecting the shot from hot gases and sealing gases behind the shot to propel it effectively down the barrel. Additionally, the wad acts as a dual barrier to Safeguard the barrel from damage caused by hard shot and to protect soft shot from deformation due to contact with the barrel steel.
