Features
The two-piece staking tool safeguards the plunger tube and adjacent frame area using a block of machined Delrin, while the steel staking bar is employed to spread the pins. This design eliminates metal-on-metal contact on exterior surfaces, thereby preventing scratches that could mar the pistol's finish. Additionally, it enhances efficiency, as the staking bar features a cutout to accommodate the ejector, allowing the tube to be staked without removal. The staking point consists of a hardened steel screw, enabling adjustment of the staking depth. When the point becomes worn, a new screw can be easily installed (a spare is included), restoring the tool to optimal condition. The Delrin block includes cut-outs to support both rounded and square plunger tubes, with cuts strategically positioned to ensure the block consistently rests on a flat side, providing comprehensive support.
- We determined that utilizing a metal plunger tube stake-in tool was suboptimal due to the potential for frame surface damage resulting from metal-on-metal contact
- We opted to precision-machine our stake-in tool using Hard Delrin, the identical high-performance polymer utilized in the fabrication of our bushing wrenches
