Can the .224 Valkyrie be used in an Ar 15 chambered for .223 without getting a new barrel?

224 Valkyrie 60gr review
I just bought the new Savage Recon in 224 Valkyrie and really like this rifle. First I love the two stage trigger, it is very lite and smooth. Having to get use to that. I have not had a lot of range time with this yet because I have a very sick mother.i have just retired and will do another review later. This is a few things I know now. First this is a little heavy, but not to the point I would not just target practice with it. The 60gr shoot nice and smooth and ejection at about 2 o'clock. I have a cheap Bushnell on it now while my 4x14 primarily arms scope is being worked on.i am getting 2" groups at 100 yards . They will get better. The mag that came with it was PRI and they are $34.00 a peace. Yep
So I ordered a few and then tried (ASC) in the 6.8 mag and they work great. YES $14.00 each. I am leaving a pic.and will update later. Be safe everyone. John
