Has anyone successfully used a barrel other than the specific ks47 barrels from psa? I already have a 10.5 setup running a lvpo that runs great using the psa barrel, Odin works ultra light handguard and psa ks47 upper but it is ungodly heavy, mainly because of their super heavy profile barrels that weigh over 2 pounds! KAK offers a 8” barrel that weighs just under a pound at 15.9oz minus gas block that I’m really interested in but it has standard m4 feed ramps. Has anyone successfully used a barrel with this style of feed ramp or has anyone re-profiled their feed ramps to match the “ trench “ style cut psa uses with success?

I have set up a 16’ upper using a BCA barrel. On that one the M4 feed ramp got dremeled into a trough style feed ramp. It’s worked perfect. I also did a 18’ mid length gas upper using a Green Mountain Rifle Barrel barrel I bought from KAK. I think KAK. The ramps on this barrel were so nice and unique that I didn’t want to grind on them without seeing if they would work. They did and the upper has run flawless for me.

That’s good to know!!! I don’t mind taking the feed ramp down if I have to but if I don’t I’d rather not. The barrel I’m looking at is the kak 8” which weighs 15.9 ounces compared to the psa 8.5 coming in at a heafty 2 pounds for some reason. Much rather run a lighter barrel with a titanium SA bleedoff gas block and make this thing stupid light since there’s a can going on the end.
