My .02 ¢ Here was my experience with the dagger. You are more than likely right it is just a sample of one. I shot over 1,000 rounds through a dagger with no issues or malfunctions.

Dagger vs My EDC

Here is my experience with the Dagger I had recently purchased. Overall it is a good shooter and if you’ve shot Glocks or other polymer based guns it should be familiar. After I field stripped it, gave it a good wipe down, lubrication and a functions check I shot about 250 rounds through it with zero issues. No malfunctions.
