New to the forum here and have a general question about the standard processing time on “back in stock” items.
I ordered a Sig Tango MSR 1-6x24 on 12/31/21 after receiving a “back in stock” notification. The order was confirmed that day and my card was ran on 1/2/22. It’s currently 1/11/22 and my order is still “processing”. These scopes have sold out, came back and stock, and sold out again since I placed the order.
Is this typical for high-demand items that are subject to sell out quickly?
Yes. With the volume PSA does it is normal for items to nor be shipped right away. There also another thread on here IIRC where a PSA rep said they have to wait on UPS to bring them trailers, which they instantly fill. The shipping process unfortunately isn’t all PSA, but an issue throughout the chain.
I too ordered one of these scopes but on the 30th of December. I had just chocked it up to them being overwhelmed with orders and etc. But today, an order I placed on the 2nd of Jan for some AAC projectiles shipped out. Would love to hear some feedback from PSA as to what’s going on other than an “auto response email”.
Could be that the ammo shipped from their new facility/warehouse.
UPDATE
It is now 1/13/22 and my order is still in processing. The scope has once again came back in stock and sold out. This makes 3 “in stock/ out of stock” cycles since placing my order on 12/31/21
I understand supply chain delays. I also understand that PSA ships from multiple locations. My confusion however is with additional orders being placed when previous orders haven’t been fulfilled. I also don’t see it being likely that there is a trailer full of nothing but Sig scopes waiting for pickup by the freight company. One would think the scopes would be included in routine pickups.
The only way I can make sense of this is if PSA marks the scope as “available” whenever they place a small batch order to be fulfilled by Sig. That is, the scope isn’t technically “in stock” when it’s marked available. Once they receive the shipment from Sig, they can process any received orders and ship them out.
Either way, it would be nice to have confirmation.
At the bottom of the description:
“This product is fulfilled by a PSA Partner and shipping times may vary.”
That means it is dropshipped, which is a shipping process used by many companies. If PSA has 4 dropship partnerships, then warehouses 1,2,and 3 could all have it in stock. They could sell out and all of a sudden warehouse 4 has it in stock. The warehouses could be located anywhere in the USA with dropshipping.
Also if it is dropshipped, PSA has nothing to do with the shipping. It will come from the dropshipper directly to you.
UPDATE
I received a shipping notification on 1/13/2022 stating that a shipping label for the scope had been created. My order on PSA.com is shown as shipped. The UPS tracking info does not show the item as picked up. I will update this thread again once the order is marked as picked up. This is likely now a matter of delays with UPS (as previously mentioned).
